I heard from a friend who heard from a friend (etc, etc) that Cleveland, Indy and Chicago centers have the same amount of business per controller. I wish I had the numbers to back that up though.

Southwest at one time (or possibly still has) an Orca the Whale livery. Was that paid advertising or just a specialty livery commemorating something? America West when they were still flying the 757s has several paint schemes and I think they were all just specialty liveries.

It's been a while, but didn't TWA do basically the same to Ozark? I seem to remember TWA dropped a number of Ozark flights. I know this doesn't directly address the original question, but it is not the only time this happens (I don't necessarily condone the action however).

The L10s ATA was talking about (old Delta craft) were mostly for parts (so that's the story via the rumormill). And they are costly to operate. The problem that L1011 operators have is parts, specifically not having them in stock.
