This reminds me of people who carp about increasing flights at Love Field in Dallas. I'd LOVE for those people to have lived in the same areas when the dominant a/c were 707s DC8s BAC-111s, DC9s 727s, etc. Their heads would have exploded.

I for one enjoy the luxury of being able to enjoy content on the airline's system (visually handicapped though it may be to purists) without having one more personal item to deal with during the trip. DL manages to offer both (PTV and streaming content) on many flights.

Who initiated this change - AS or AA? Doesn't seem to benefit either airline. AA really could use the AS network as a de-facto presence in the Northwest, since their current presence is largely hub-only flying.

It's been the talk for a while locally. Some people noticed that Volaris (and Allegiant for that matter) flights weren't bookable after a certain date, even taking seasonality of flights into account.

My personal experiences mirror those of others. On AA, the onboard experience is a toss-up, a gamble. On DL, it's much more consistent. People need to make plans, to know what to expect. Weather, mechanical issues can happen anywhere/anytime. But all other things being equal, DL provides a more cons...

Hopefully the equipment used won't hamstring the operation. Independence Air made CRJs almost palatable, could work here. Before anyone lambasts me for bringing them up, they had a whole boatload of their own unique issues that did them in.

I think removing the seat-back IFE is OK. Removing it would make the seat thinner and lighter, and make the tighter pitch a little bit more acceptable. As long as they provide movies through Wi-fi to the pax's personal devices. The seat-back IFE is really obsolete with the Wi-fi movie beaming capab...

I don't know the answers to any of your questions, but I'm a big fan of the aircraft vs CR2s at least. They may be smaller (narrower), but they are more comfortable and the large windows are great IMO.

I actually think that the livery update is a step forward, if only a tiny one. I would have preferred the 787 (and 737max?) livery, but with the billboard UNITED as with the new livery.

I think it all boils down to the price point. These seats won't command the premium that true lie flat seats do but they are miles ahead of recliners (if they still exist),
