Will be passing thru Chicago on a Labor Day weekend road trip. What hotel would afford the best views of aircraft and/or the field itself?Jump to post
commavia wrote:This was discussed in a thread months ago - there is more detail there. AA will consolidate on T, but cannot do so until T is expanded to the north.
Title really says it all, but I thought AA's ops at ATL would have been consolidated to either T or D by now.Jump to post
" Nothing to do with Dr Dao who was sitting quietly minding his own business when he was abruptly asked to leave his seat and make space for others" Dannyboy, you have no clue what you are talking about. Dao ran past the gate agent to reboard the plane after he had already accepted the $$...Jump to post

IMO, just places an additional and unneeded layer between the aircraft being controlled and the controllers.Jump to post

Does this place really need another runway? 10-28 is only used during peak times.
I fly in and out of SEA usually every other week, So I am there a lot. But I feel SEA is struggling and with all the growth it feels far from world class. 3 - Amenities - to me it seems far behind, even when compared to PDX. I was just in DEN, and it blows SEA away 4 - Food court - nice enough. Nee...Jump to post
They did for years. What killed panAm in the long run was years after deregulation the other US airlines used congress to keep PanAm from building domestic route. By the time Pam Am was allowed to fly domestic. OED-JFK-LHR would be flown but only the single flight domestic. They could not build mul...Jump to post
So.... Paying customers be damned then(??). First off, airlines are not "making money like they were printing it in the basement." The eight largest publicly-traded airlines in the U.S. are - ordered by revenue - AA, Delta, United, Southwest, Alaska, JetBlue, Spirit and Allegiant. Those e...Jump to post
I'm sure someone else has already brought this up, but why do airlines continue to feel the need to shoehorn more seats into the same space, when they're already making money like they were printing it in the basement?? Because airlines are a for-profit business. Also because margins in the airline...Jump to post
You clearly haven't flown them in Y. :-) The CRJs aren't really much better, but that 1" extra in pitch is most welcome when compared to the 30" pitch E175s at Compass. Should have been more explicit ... more 175s, less CRJ200s. :) Personally, I'll take any seat on a 175 over a CRJ200 any...Jump to post
I think of 747 "classics" as the -100, -200 and -300 versions. With that said, I flew two KL 747-300s (one combi), one in the mid 80s ex-ATL and the another in the mid-90s ex-ORD. I remember watching Mr. Bean reruns and laughing until I cried on the latter flight.Jump to post
I like this idea. As mentioned earlier upthread, this has already been done in other parts of the world, with what sound like good results. Isn't ATC in some countries privatized as well?Jump to post
I don't know if its' still there, but a while back the current terminal had an outpost of Cafe du Monde serving beignets. Will those delightful greasy, pillowy, sweet pieces of Heaven be available in the new terminal?Jump to post
What some people complain about I would (almost) KILL to have! To be in that proximity of the air traffic of a major world air hub?? Dream come true for me.Jump to post
There was something similar several yrs ago on a US Airways flight back to the U.S. from a Caribbean island (can't remember which one). The daughter of a friend of ours was an FA on that flight. Pax were also affected on the flight as well, if memory serves. She fell very ill, and had to go thru muc...Jump to post
Wonder why it's an old US 319 instead of one of AA's nice new ones? You haven't sat in the AA 319 Coach, I assume. I have once, in the first (bulkhead) row of economy, DFW-ATL. At least for that length flight, it was comfortable (and I have a notoriously un-padded rear end). The IFE helped I suppose.Jump to post
I've been checking varous schedues ex-MKE on AA this summer for vacation, and MKE-DFW seems to be almost (if not actually) exclusively MD80 well into July at least. On another subject, is there a way to tell (or does anyone have inside knowledge) what a/c will replace MD80s on routes they're still f...Jump to post
(waiting for everyone to start yelling when airlines raise fares due to less seats in the cabin) .. They're already sky-high as it is now... I paid $276 for a Y fare on TP from BOS-LIS. I just bought BOS-PRG-VCE-BOS (BA/EI) for $411. Flew BOS-GRU (AA/JJ) in May for $430. It has never been cheaper t...Jump to post
Didn't B6 do any kind of CASM analysis before committing to the E190? Also, if E2 is significantly more cost effective wouldn't Embraer work them a sweet deal on those to keep B6 inhouse?Jump to post
Will DEFINITELY be planning excursions to SFO when that baby opens! I remember waaaay back in the day, I loved the outdoor observation decks atop the central concourses at both MSY and the old ATL (pre-midfield terminals). Heck, even my piddly old home airport at the time (MOB) had one on the 2nd fl...Jump to post

MKE (per my observations):
Largest currently-A321 on F9 or 739 on DL; DL 757 during summer
Smallest-E135 on UA (unless you count OneJet).
An un-need Billion dollar project turning into a boondoggle. Who would have guessed? This whole rental car, train from station is completely un necessary. It is just a vanity project for the airport director. IMHO. Not totally sure about that, but as a passenger, I detest offsite car rental facilit...Jump to post
De-hubbing CLT over this would be a ridiculously stupid business move. I just don't get it. Regardless of whatever laws are or aren't on the books, the world and the state of NC are still the same places they were before all this. No more or less safe for anyone. As a gay man myself, I just don't un...Jump to post

I want to present a radically different opinion- I don't like either advertiser logos or airline logos on jetways. Why can we not have more transparent jetways so I can actually see the plane I am boarding! I love that most new airports in Asia at least are going for transparent jetways. I've asked...Jump to post
