This is an intriguing add to me. I realize that both areas are thriving and both cities have a large DL presence. However that seems like an awful lot of capacity for the route when you include the 3 daily WN 737. Seems like it would make more sense to start RDU-MSY given the lack of a dominant car...

Its seems the problem with airports like SBA that are in shadow of much bigger neighbours is the inconvenience of having to connect. I believe that G4 would do well at MKE, RFD notwithstanding. There's enough local leisure market, plus many cities/towns N of there for whom MKE would be closer and worth the drive.

I feel the loss of air service to these smaller communities that has been happening over the last couple years is proof that more investment in inter-city and long distance train service is essential.
