Interesting....Very Interesting....I knew that United had extra doors installed on their 200's but I've never seen extra doors on a -100. I talked to a bunch of guys at work who are all 727 endorsed, and none of them have ever heard of rear doors on a -100, so this must have been a unpopular option....

CYLW...I think you should look outside more often, Westjet does not fly 700's daily into YLW anymore. The 700's only come in on sunday nights.

They've got a brand new ac power cart, air start cart, de-ice truck, and a scissor lift truck. Alll brand spanking new fresh of the assembly line.

I'm pretty sure there is no 700's flying into YLW...I haven't seen one in a long time.

Has any work been done in the aft cargo pit lately?? About 6 months ago we had the HMG installed along with all the associated wiring. After the work was done the APU would run fine until the aft cargo pit was loaded and then the APU would shut itself down. We couldnt figure out what the problem was...

The IFE system on their a/c are overhead tv's in the aisle, plus a couple music channels. They operate 3 a/c all 757-200's. The inflight service is alot better on Harmony compared to Alaska and Air Canada.

Actually it did get everyones attention, but that could be the fact that there was only about 40 people on board and 24 of us were AME's and we were all cracking jokes right back at the Co-pilot.

On both of my flights over the past weekend the Co-pilot stood in the front of the cabin after everyone was boarded and got on the PA and cracked a few jokes and told us about the flight and the a/c we were flying in. My Name used to be an indication of how much time a spent around skydrol. I used to work in the heavy maintenance department of my company, mainly doing heavy C-Checks on 727's. But I've switched over to line maitenance so I don't tend to get as "Dirty' at work.

Dl757md,

We use Olive Oil at my work and seems to do a good job after hydraulic fluid in your eyes, but I'm sure mineral oil does the same job. We've never had a problem with anyone getting an eye infection after using it, maybe you should give it a try.

M404, Yes the DC-10 had to worry about compressor stalling, the L-1011 and 727 have similar problems. The problem is pretty much caused by what you said, the fuselage disturbing the air into the engine. Yes Kelowna Flightcraft only has the one stretch right now, they have another airframe in the hangar in YLW that is being stretched. The only other three CV5800's in existance are flying for Contract Air Cargo out of Pontiac Michigan. The CV5800 you saw was doing training flights.
