There is no relation between HMY and AC, Globeground is doing the ground services and check in, and Kelowna Flightcraft is doing the maintenance for them.

The latest I've been hearing from my sources is the HMY is now looking at Airbus' for the Long-haul routes. But I think going the 767 route will make alot more sense than Airbus since they plan on keeping the 757s for a while.

Yes the "Flying Beaver" still exists, also nearby is the new McDonalds which is shaped like an old hangar with the arched roof, inside there is numerous photos of a/c on the walls and lots of a/c models hanging from the ceiling.

Okanagan Helicopters was started in Penticton B.C. which borders on Okanagan Lake. Hence where the name came from. One of the founders of Okanagan Helicopters, Alf Stringer went on to form Vancouver Island Helicopters, which is now one the largest Helicopter operators in the world.

Thought you guys might like to know that HMY C-GMYD will be parked next to customs on the south side, On Friday March 5 at 11am. It will be getting a maintenance check done on it there until it moves to the BCIT hangar at about 4pm.

One of Kelowna Flightcraft's Convair 580's C-GKFQ has 143,000+ cycles, and is still flying about 3 flights daily. If you do the math thats about 7 landings a day for its entire 50 year life. I'm pretty sure that this is the record holder for the most landings of any airframe.

As I said in my first post they are going to use 737-400's not 747's. Also Zoom is focusing on trans atlantic operations, so I don't think a new operator using 737's will really affect Zoom since they will most likey be flying to Canadian destinations.
