Re: American A320 Retirement

If all groups (pilots, attendants, etc) are not united, it is also easier to rid planes that are being replaced by the same plane. AA, I am guessing cannot suddenly move 737s to CLT or PHX to replace A320s.

B6 gets one A320 for every flight CEO takes?
Best thing about a CEO taking another's flight is to learn first hand what the competitor is doing.

Re: DL Adds Mainline to HPN

I have to say we actually live near Stewart and know a few American crew members that commute to JFK and LGA. I understand that commuting there maybe an issue but I think that there has to be quite a few crew members that would welcome not having to make it to one of the big city airports.

Is there a 717 crew base in NY that could serve it?

Re: American Airlines on the market for used A319s to replace MD80s

That sound of a coffee cup being thrown against the wall came from Allegiant offices. Allegiant is mad because the cost of used A319s with CFM engines just went up. I believe Allegiant has bought a couple A319s or A320s from EasyJet. From what I read, Allegiant left the interior the same. Allegiant...

Re: United eyes A330-800 for fleet replacement

I think this is a look to make Boeing make a deal on the 787's for cheap or to make a nice hold over deal on new 767's to hold over until the new 797 is available. Boeing can easily deal some short lease 767 hold overs assuming they easily will be able to turn the aircraft in to freighters in short ...

Wishful thinking - it would be nice to see a few flights to SWF to compliment the few fligths to PHL.

I think this topic should be renamed to focus more on American's fleet in general since the airline is now basically repainted and most updates now are about retirements and new deliveries.

Aren't they considered experimental aircraft and do not necessarily follow cycle limits and such?

Re: Boeing may consider restarting 767 pax model production

ANA took some of the last passenger versions off the line if I remember correctly. Could they be United's best chance for used versions? What would ANA replace them with. They need more domestic WBs than UA needs Intl WBs. I though ANA only took them because 787 delays and not because they wanted m...

American does it too. There was 738 DCA-JFK then 772 JFK-LHR with the same flight number that I took the second leg of in June. If you look at flight 101 you get same only LHR-JFK-CLT today.

Re: Norwegian considering expanding services in SWF

It's nice to see Norwegian flourishing. Just a shame at what SWF's domestic ops with the legacies are like. DL can't even sustain RJs to ATL from there. That's because Delta is a legacy and Norwegian is an LCC. Somehow at small airports like Stewart LCCs always do better than legacies. At large air...

I am sure with the S80's continuing to flying instead of tripping to retirement.

Looks like American (Piedmont) will be changing out the Dash 8 for ERJ145s in early May at SWF. Wonder if they will move to a bridge gate from the current walking out on the tarmac to board.

SWF has had international charters to Mexico and able to create a closed area for them if someone brings flights.
