This person has only themselves to blame. Even Orbitz makes it super clear what the restrictions are with a BE fare before payment. When choosing AA flights, Orbitz shows all available fare classes and their restrictions so you can easily choose something that works for you.

Dude, it is just a 7-8 hour flight not a life changing event, and especially in Y there isn’t a huge difference between operators. Either suck it up or ask for a refund and book new tickets.

Yes, it still happens from time to time. Last June I flew back home with SAS ARN-LAX and visited the flight deck when we were over Greenland. Was a clear day, so had amazing views of Greenland. Was there for about 30 minutes!

AA doesn't offer the product premium economy on domestic flights regardless of if an aircraft with premium economy seats is operating the flight. So basically what you get is MCE service with a better seat only.
