Re: SQ 368 engine catches fire

You can say now that was what was burning, but how was anybody suppose to know that at the time ? A firefighter would know the difference of a oil and jet fuel fire. Doesn't matter what was burning really. Have a look at the photos of the damage after the fire was put out and you can see that it mu...

Re: SQ 368 engine catches fire

Oxygen rich? Cabin air is simply outside air pumped into the cabin. At altitude, enough air is pumped in to pressurize the aircraft but there are no huge oxygen tanks pumping O2 into the cabin. On ground, when depressurized, the cabin air is the same as the outside air, except that it has been filte...

Re: A350 In Service Thread - Part 3

Why is CXs AOG team in TPE? Are they that much cheaper than hiring in HKG? That is one reason. It is also where our largest engineering team are based. In Hong Kong, engineering is contracted to HAECO, so the CX-employed engineers are actually desk-job and supervisor positions. As crew in HKG you w...

You know as well as I do that CX puts together a team of engineers from TPE to fly all over the world to fix AOG CX aircraft. I thought all the 777's had nitrogen inerting systems now. Maybe there were no vapors in the tanks. Our initial 77Ws did not have this feature as it came a few years later.
