Can I just suggest - for all those who are asking whether it's acceptable to fly "over" a runway - that <b>none</b> of the photos linked in this thread seem to be taken from "over" runway. Even if there are routes over the runways, there wouldn't need to be for these photos. With the right equipment...Jump to post
Always interesting how things turn out. Don't worry, of course, this'll sort of have to boil away in a couple more weeks (this thread, I mean). Anyway, I hope <b>AirTran737</b>'s post is <u>not</u> deleted; let's just deal with it, shall we? AirTran, pay attention, chap: <b>I’m not buying this load ...Jump to post
A friend has asked me if I know when/if the International Space Station will be visible as it passes overhead. I wondered if any one more on the space end of "aerospace" had any knowledge about that sort of thing or knew where one could find out.
Well... it's not even remotely liberal crap. In the modern sense, it's thoroughly conservative. I'm glad to see a libertarian participant in the discussion. As for Greg, all I can say is that it remains amusing that you urge me to lighten up and then begin, "Please, please,"-ing me. For what it's wo...Jump to post
Greg, Since I didn't copy it, it would have to be option B) that I wrote that horrible diatribe and want credit for it, though I don't recall any statement particularly to the tone of wanting credit for it. By the way, what has self-indulgence got to do with it? Is that what we're calling dissent no...Jump to post
How absolutely stupid (I'm grinning while writing this, so no hard feelings) do you think I am that I didn't <b>know it came from my own profile</b>. Oy vey. Can you spell: "duh"? Anyway, I'll keep what I've been smokin' to myself, thank you. -- On a serious note -- I was wondering how a nation bein...Jump to post
The only additional comments I feel should be made are: 1-In one month, I'll change my profile to the next age category; I'm 20 currently. I do notice how <b>presumptuous</b> some of the childish American responses are to the piece. I find it interesting how many people's first inclination, upon rea...Jump to post
Cute - yes, I am. Nice profile, by the way. I think you need a few flags in thereJump to post
Wow, I have to say it's great to read all these comments from foreigners. And I agree with <b>all</b> of them. Of course, not many Americans see any of that or will agree with it. We think we're free of "bias" and "propaganda" and of course, all this soap-opera stuff seems <i>sooooo</i> important wh...Jump to post
Dear Fellow Citizen, Foreign Observer, In one month’s time, we, the Citizens of the fifty United States of America, will be given the opportunity to do that which allegedly consists, essentially, in the selecting of a leader for ourselves and our nation. Another quick comment on photography playing tricks with the eyes - This shot is not as remarkable physically as it is aesthetically. Not only are the aircraft 1000' apart (we hope), but there is an <b>enormous</b> amount of horizontal space being lost on account of the angle of the photographer and...Jump to post
Well, why would you need lots of windows with 50 inches of seat pitch? Wait- what do you mean they'll actually use 32 inches... -- Also, an observation for the imaginative: the upper-deck bar photos (which is a separate bar than the one in the lower deck photo) appear to be a continuation of the upp...Jump to post
Forgive my dissenting interpretation of the situation, but "Nazi" is <b>not</b> inherently derogatory. Is it? While generally used that way, it would depend on context. You cannot allow yourself to be offended by a 'neutral' world; and you are unwise to assume inference. How do you know that you wer...Jump to post
a good point is brought up; do you need the buttons/links currently shown? Do you need others not shown? A differnet combination or order?
The "use photos" for example seems a bit awkward or underused.
Please let us know!
I think I'll vote for the Libertarian candidate, too. Unless there are any socialists running...
yeah, I know...
What a bevy of knowledge! I love it - I was wondering what mountain L-188 was seeing over on the right, too, but I'm glad we worked that out <img src="/discussions/graphics/wink.gif" ALT="Big grin">. Yeah, I was gonna' say - I've been to Anchorage (not sure that I know where Flattop Mt.) on my way up to Fairbanks, and seen hiking trails in the Rockies, Mt. Rainier, and in Denali N.P. - if those were trails, perhaps they're enclosed. (Now where's the fun in that?!)Jump to post
Given the choice of Bush, an horribly unsucessful businsesman who has never had to do a day's work, can't speak lucidy, and shows no particular signs of greatness, or Kerry, who can speak a little better and has had some independent business success (indicating he has some concept of how to run a la...Jump to post
That's a rather vivid trail. When you go out to Mt. Rainier in Washington, (or down to it, in your case) you can barely see hikers with strong binoculars, much less any of the trails. If it's a trail, then why do the lines all seem parallel - none seem to gain any altitude?Jump to post

Well, the bedliner is over the rail (side). It's aesthetic - as far as I can tell it does nothing but make a pretty black plastic thing on the outside. Americans do <b>not</b> use quotation marks in place of so-called apostrophies. Only those of us who are lax in proper grammar do so. You people are a little short-sighted here, the plane had 103 pax and 7 crew - 120 people. Whether that was "capacity" or what it actually had aboard is beside the point. I didn't mean to say there was anything "wrong" with "tiny European cars". Anyone know how much the average car weighs, or where I can find out spec.s for the weights of various cars?
By average I mean average American car, like Ford Taurus, or an import, one of the Japanese makers, but of American size, not the tiny European ones.
