Are routes to Las Vegas premium light, medium or heavy? Generally speaking since it's leisure traffic overall light I'd say. It is probably higher than alot of leisure places though. I think it's a city that can stimulate demand and get a premium for a N/S. High for a leisure city, but low compared...Jump to post
I think its obvious that Boeing made some huge mistakes here. The 737 as a whole is a proven safe design. Has been battle tested. They should have been able to make this work safely. Right idea probably rushed and cut corners because they knew how huge a sales success it would be. Alot of people pro...Jump to post
The legacy coach even on this "business heavy" plane is basically allegiant. No reason to pretend that recline is a luxury item anymore. It's an outdated feature from a time when there was actually space to recline.Jump to post
First Class i like the recline option and use it. In coach It's too minor an amount to be really helpful in todays density. I prefer no recline like Allegiant. No fights over people reclining. I broke a laptop screen when the person in front slammed their seat back in coach. I've also been on a flig...Jump to post
I'm guessing it's a combination of cheaper place for an airplane to sit, and easier to bus board people onto a plane than Logan. Ie it save money and they can get thebpmane boarded and loaded faster or at least much easier to load with both equipment and people direct from buses.Jump to post
Frontier seems like a good candidate to make Long Beach Work. Granted they would want a deal. They only have a minor operation at SNA, which could be closed. The issue for most airlines is Long Beach is wedged between larger operations at SNA and LAX. It's hard to have an airport wedged in the middl...Jump to post
I can't imagine ha or da want 10 slots. So que WN. I would guess WN wants them , but that doesn't mean they will work. Unlike b6 wn has larger operations in LAX and SNA so just under cutting themselves to the same destinations , not sure that works longterm.Jump to post
I get that some people want the airport dead and probably did buy houses when it pretty much was. I do understand that. It just seemed like some city council members were on a you need us more than we need you power Trip. They seemed to think B6 was pouring in money hand over fist and if you leave e...Jump to post
Long Beach City Council members were the issue for B6. B6 had a great idea at the right airport. They crushed them. Greedy city council members who decided B6 needed to pay "their fair share" not at all acknowledging how much they helped the airport and city. The airport was basically forg...Jump to post
With NY Winters this has to be done in the busy summer season unfortunately. No real way around that.
I feel like the delays last time did not live up to the hype. NY airports have delays in anything but 100% perfect conditions anyway
If B6 is moving to the north side at BTV then hopefully F9 will take over one of their actual gates in the Delta terminal. The ramp F9 is using now is an absolute embarrassment. Embarrassment in what way? Because it does not have a jet bridge? I wonder if that could be F9's choice? Allegiant did th...Jump to post
Last summer there was construction at BTV. Two airlines swapped sides iirc maybe it was united and b6? Does anyone rememberJump to post
UA drops ORD-YOW/TUS/JAN and IAH-CRW/CAE/LEX. Beginning to wonder if all that talk about beefing up the domestic hubs only applies to DEN. We have seen some pretty nice IAD increases too it hasn't been all Denver. Maybe UA is choosing the hubs with lower operating costs ie delta style? ORD is compe...Jump to post
Sounds like WN made some timeline estimates on what they know and they didn't like what they heard. Being the largest customer , I expect Boeing gave them honest answers. Of all airlines boeing wants to keep happy it's WN. As I said from the get go when the Boeing defenders on here Insisted this wou...Jump to post

People really want Norweigan to die on here! LOL Reality is 787 issues now MAX issues this is not ideal. I do think this will hurt them , but I don't think it will take them down. This must be really hard for them logistically. Even their SWF buses for NYC are guaranteed links now that timing will a...Jump to post
I bet any planes AA was planning on retiring b 757,767, MD-80 will be just options. Too much is unknown at the moment. Could be fast, could be years. No one knows anything right now. Boeing has paused all deliveries. Any airline would be smart to just do nothing at the moment, to see how this plays ...Jump to post
According to planespotter.net no AC A320-family aircraft are stored, so this means their NB fleet has just shrunk with 25%. Thats huge... I wonder, would they need to consider any temporary dry or wet leases to get additional aircraft into service? Or make do with consolidating flights and maybe ad...Jump to post
Until we get an exact answer on the 737 MAX, i bet they will keep all options open.
Not just AA, but i bet every airline effected is thinking this way. We do not know enough at the moment, so keep all options open if they are possible.
Jeesh YUL is down to 1x daily. I remember that being as high as 4-5x daily. AA is really on slash at JFK.
Still my favorite terminal at JFK and their frequency to LA is excellent.
Another max........totally what I feared when I saw 737.
Boeing I am sure has emergency meetings going on as we speak. This is too many for such a young plane there looks like either a design flaw or mandatory training needed.
I really hope they consider adding some more space back. Those seats are already so hard to sit on for anything more than two hours. No padding. First class even feels cheap and light weight. At least a little space will help differentiate them from an ULCC cause right now there is nothing different...Jump to post
It's clearly not a merger! people on here are getting ridiculous. The crew party smells of Europe. It's the biggest milestone for B6 since the launch of MINT. Reason to celebrate. I can't see why the other ideas would justify a party? Launching their first flights to Europe is a huge announcement fo...Jump to post
Amtrak sells out frequently on DC-philly-NY-BOS, it leaves the airlines some space. Demand is too high for Amtrak to keep up especially Acela. I use to commute NY-DC frequently and Amtrak is a better product in every way but when schedules changed Amtrak you would hit sold out trains too frequently...Jump to post

Doesn't FedEx fly the A300 to SNA? If that's the case without restrictions, I'm sure they'd use the 739/A321 if they can land there. If not, I know AA/UA both use the 738 into SNA. That'd be my guess. Yes. A 777 could takeoff from SNA if it had minimal fuel and cargo. This issue is the short runway...Jump to post
How about TTN? It is roughly equidistant to New York and Philadelphia, there's a nearby rail line with service existing via SEPTA to Philly and where service to Newark and NYC on NJT could be restored. I 95 passes by the airport, the NJ and PA Turnpikes are not far away. There is passenger potentia...Jump to post
It seems like pretty much every airline has staffing issues at BTV. Rent is very high near Burlington, and unemployement rate is low so easier to find a better paying job. I know Porter had major issues getting part time people with flexible hours who also could stay when planes were delayed or weat...Jump to post
ISP location is very interesting. It is near millions of people on Long Island. It's also very hard to reach from anywhere else. I think it's main misison should be to leisure destinations and maybe more to large hubs. SWF I do think is the reliever of choice for almost everyone who isn't on long Is...Jump to post
Quite simply united would have to cut a flight to add it. Either a 737-700 or 757-200 could operate the route on takeoff with no issues. They must think their current operation offers enough time options to the hubs they serve. I don't think it's a demand issue, I think it's a slot issue. SMF has al...Jump to post

b777a340fan wrote:When has PHL become the gateway to Europe? Over JFK? Hmmm
I think the answer is just so many connection options in Europe or even NYC. Demand is there, but they probably are not willing to pay enough of a premium just for a non-stop. Not ever route with enough demand deserves a non-stop especially a route that has so many connection options already and so ...Jump to post
It seems it’s just a single poster, I thought someone was having a laugh when I saw three “Snow at XYZ?” threads in a row on the forum. Yep, the “Snow at LAS/PHX/LA?” threads were all started by the same person. To be fair, snow at those 3 airports is rare rare enough to ask how they will handle op...Jump to post
Seems like the airline could easily put a plastic fill or sticker on each camera. My guess is they like the ability to turn them on if need be but are indeed disabled.Jump to post
I know Boston has been a long very sought after route. Traffic can be really bad, and its totally unrealistic to ask an employee to drive that on a day trip and not do an overnight hotel. BOS is a sought after route for the business community and if an airline like Delta or B6 will offer connections...Jump to post
It's not going to snow in PHX , what you saw was for the mountains. Places in view of PHX will get good snow, but it's not gonna fall at the low elevation airport. Also you need to remember somewhere like LAS is near places that get a lot of snow. Plows and salt trucks are plentiful nearby because o...Jump to post
I wonder why EK is launching Porto instead of Helsinki, the last city in Europe that’s very economically important not yet launched by EK!?
