I think the answer is just so many connection options in Europe or even NYC. Demand is there, but they probably are not willing to pay enough of a premium just for a non-stop. Seems like the airline could easily put a plastic fill or sticker on each camera. My guess is they like the ability to turn them on if need be but are indeed disabled.

I know Boston has been a long very sought after route. Traffic can be really bad, and its totally unrealistic to ask an employee to drive that on a day trip and not do an overnight hotel. Some airline will lauch LGA if there is pre clearance, that is almost a given. AC or DL will do it.

AA 671 looks like it was DFW-LAS, if that's right they just didn't seem to fill up with enough fuel to compensate for the winds. Those Transcons were full and needed a refuel. Kind of a different situation.

NYC/BOS Transcon stopping for fuel is not that rare if headwinds are strong. I have been on more than one JetBlue A320 from JFK to Cali and we had to stop for fuel.

Southwest just doesn't need this route anymore. The traffic is better connected via demver, it just make sense. Bdl-las less than daily is probably perfect for sun country.

It's all lesisure passengers, and there are so many places they can connect you thru instead. Look at ALB it had a successful flight to LAS for years, they replaced it with a DEN flight not because LAS didn't make money, but DEN connects you to Las perfectly and many more cities.

Anyone else surpised to see Reno on the list but me? I am quite familiar with Reno never would I have seen so many Canadians a day using that airport. I would think Canadians visiting lake Tahoe would use San Fran or oak etc and Tahoe is usually an excursion of their overall San Fran trip.

Long Beach was maybe a new carrier subsidy and run routine? Allegiant definitely starts airports with every plan on leaving when funds dry up. They were up against JetBlue who over served LAS at the time. Never had a chance. On too bad times

I too have seen this at DFW by AA way more than anywhere else. Delta and UA I feel like change gates more often . At DFW once like you we landed early, everyone missed their connections because we wait for an hour stairing at empty gates in all directions

When the tvs are free I see a very high use rate. When they charge I agree the numbers are pretty small unless you are on a transcon then people will give in.

It is Alaska or Siberia could outside. I visited Siberia once, it's amazing how much engineering, resources,and planning are needed for things to operate in such extreme cold. I don't think anyone can blame the airlines or airports for cancellations, this isn't weather they get everyday in MSP, ORD.

you don't think so? BTV-DEN is only 1,638 miles. The United EMB-175 i thought has a posted range of 2,200 miles. BTV is at sea level and not a short runway. It's also not an airport where they would be sitting waiting to takeoff burning fuel in grid lock.

Plane types too subject to change this far ahead. Also fares will probably go down at that time of year if you can wait.

I would say skipping price the united 787 is one of the best seats and N/S. Why wouldn't you do that?

I really do think DEN can work. Saying that I can't see daily. It's a good less than daily route they need to push those o&d numbers. Alot of travellers will adjust for frontiers low prices and n/s.

PHL and RDU seem like they should have a shot. SLC has tons of service to Mexico via delta and Aero Mexico. You can one stop easily to when the smallest cities with ease.
