RE: Ever Seen Your House Or Workplace From A Plane?

I see my house every time I fly visual from Jacarepaguá Airport (Rio) to Cabo Frio or Buzios (two beach resort towns). The flight borders the coast all the way, and my apartment is in front São Conrado beach in Rio. On my first time passing by my house, I could see two flashes coming from one of the...

RE: An Interesting USAToday Article

I don't think that the aviation industry can handle anymore of the nonsense the <acronym title="Taipei - Sung Shan (TSA / RCSS), Taiwan">TSA</acronym> and "Homeland Security" are shoving down their throats. Its pretty obvious that the "classic" business model, if you will, of the mainstream airlines...

RE: AZ And MXP A Divorce Annunced?

So you think Alitalia will transfer its intercontinental hub to Fiumicino? I found the renovated Fiumicino airport to be very nice and efficient. I think it would make more sense to have the main hub at Fiumicino, if the airport can handle the traffic.

Elwood64151, I agree with you when you quote: "If people give in to fear in the States, the moral victory belongs to the bad guys who started this on 9/11." As for the fingerprinting in Brazil, I really don't think it is necessary. There are better ways to control who is getting into the country, fo...

RE: Busy Airport With Small Diversity Of A/C Type

We have many in Brazil, Congonhas (São Paulo), Santos Dumont (Rio), and Pampulha (Belo Horizonte).

Congonhas is the busiest airport in Latin America, but it gets nothing but 737s, Airbus 319s and A320s, EMB-120 Brasilia, ERJ-145, ATR-42 and the general aviation aircraft.

Rsmith6621a, Exactly, that is funny. What strìkes me as even funnier is that almost everybody complained about the Bush idea. Finally people saw that as nothing more then an electoral maneuver. And apparently during the election, in Florida, they did just that. They banned people who had nothing but...

Rsmith6621a: I agree 100% with you. Americans have always been so proud of their founding fathers (as well they should be), and they all must be turning in their graves. What's happening is a crime, simply a crime. I'm not found of the current Brazilian administration, and they started fingerprintin...

Great sites! I laugh every time I visit the Infraero website. Infraero is the state owned company that controls every major airport in Brazil. So you have an airport like São Paulo-Guarulhos (<acronym title="Sao Paulo - Guarulhos International (Cumbica) (GRU / SBGR), Brazil">GRU</acronym>), the busi...

I've flow to the US at least 2 times per year, every year, for the last 23 years. Miami is my home away from home. I'll be on my way again next week and I'm aware that I'll have to go through that fingerprinting/photo taking process once I face customs. Since I have nothing to hide, I should have no...

Airport Homepages

Hello to all, I'm a long time reader of the forum, but only became a member 10 min. ago. I regularly visit airport homepages, so I was wondering what are the best airport sites out there. I think that now-a-days every major airport needs a state of the art website. I for one like the Miami Intl web ...
