Re: A330 NEO Production And Delivery Thread Part 1

I agree the 330-900 is one of my favorite looking planes. In my opinion its much prettier than the 350, I still can't get over the weird looking noise of the 350, perhaps in time I'll get used to it

Re: Qantas announces non-stop PER-LHR flights

Something doesn't make sense to me. Currently the longest route for a 787-9 is United Airlines UA-1 at 7,339 nm (16hr, 20mins flying time) but this route is 18+ hours flying time. How do they stretch the flying time to accommodate this? They will have to drastically cut weight (seats and passengers)...

Air Canada new livery?

I have heard the AC is planning on changing their livery from their current greenish color to a combination silver, red and white design. Any news on this?...

Re: Air Canada Rouge- how is the carrier doing?

LCC's like Rouge are just that, as cheap as they can make it, as little leg room as possible, even cheaper food (I didn't think that was possible) all designed to compete with airlines like Air Transat, Westjet etc. This is a result of people who put the cost of air travel first over everything else...

Winglets On a A380

Just curious if there is a possibility of Winglets, Sharklets, type additions being added to the A380. I keep reading about the A380 needing to be more efficient in order to be more appealing to potential customers. I personally think they would look great with them added on.

Speaking of the A310's Air Transat still has the 310's in their fleet. Does anyone know how long they will hold onto those?

Re: 717 vs A318 & 736

Believe it or not the B717 has roughly a $15 per nautical mile fuel cost while both the A318 and B 737 are in the $12 range and that's solely due to engine efficiency.

Re: 717 vs A318 & 736

Unfortunately there is no short answer to this topic. 99.99% of the time it comes down to the acquisition costs of a plane. A unpopular plane may be leased /purchased far cheaper than a popular model. All airlines use a complicated mathematical formula when calculating operational cost of a plane an...

Re: Air Canada Rouge - 3 years in the air

I'm really surprised what people complain about. Life is simple, you get what you paid for, if you paid a cheap price for a ticket on a low cost airline you will get cheap service, cramped seats etc. LCC are just basic transportation between A and B. If you don't want that then expect to pay more fo...

Re: Leahy: MOM Market Already Taken By A321neo

You know after reading everyone's posts and articles on this subject it seems to me that this ideal MOM plane looks a lot like the old 767-200 or A310 but just heavily modernized, just my opinion of course...

Re: Norwegian orders 30 A321LR aircraft

People talk like the Boeing MOM is a done deal. Boeing has done this many times in the past, they try to get some attention by deflecting the success of a current Airbus product and right now that's the A321. I learned in life, don't believe it until you actually see it...

Re: Boeing 737-10MAX Decision Seen By End Of Year

Beatyair said it best, A bad idea no matter how you dress it up is still a bad idea. A321 has won this segment, admit defeat, cut your losses and move on to something that will benefit Boeing. Don't bother! The 739 takes the entire runway to liftoff and the ER had the extra fuel tsnks that take carg...

Re: WestJet flights to London prompting a wave of complaints and compensation

This is what happens when you try to do something the cheap way. Lets get cheap planes, have them serviced in a cheap place for a cheap price and then try to compete with AC with lots of transoceanic experience. You buy cheap you get cheap thrown right back at you. Serves Westjet right for trying to...
