Spotting in Athens is kind of difficult without a rental car. I strongly recommend to book a side trip to Corfu on one of the "charter-days" which should be relatively cheap with Olympic or Aegean.

There is no footpath but traffic on "Rue de l'Aeroport" is slow, so no need for it. When I was there in November last year it was absolutely no problem to walk all way to the spotting location.

you can get there by walking from the terminal which will take you about 20 minutes.
But don't expect too much, BSL is not very busy.

There is no need to have the same monitor as the people who look at your photos. It is more important to have a properly calibrated one.

Unless the light is completely different (time of the day) it is a clear no for me. How could we know that the pictures were taken during two different approaches? And why would anyone like to have two very similar pictures online?

First one looks too overall too soft with some areas oversharpened and the 2nd one is backlit, resulting in a dark plane on a bright sky.

Jaggies do not only appear after oversharpening, they also show up after resizing. With the image files getting larger and larger I strongly recommend to resize a picture in steps of 500px.

I have seen pictures from the ramp in Sharjah that were taken just one week ago, so it must be possible to get access. Also the photographer wrote that he paid like 190 Euros for the access.
