The 2.8 version will be useful when you need more focal length as it allows you to use it together with the extenders.

Hi Peter, it is not directly on your way but there are some great small GA airfields up in the north of Germany. Especially Helgoland and Harlesiel have a nice scenery and also the traffic with the BN-2 Islanders is not bad. Helgoland can be very busy on weekends when a lot of GA pilots fly over the...

Spotting in Athens is kind of difficult without a rental car. I strongly recommend to book a side trip to Corfu on one of the "charter-days" which should be relatively cheap with Olympic or Aegean.
Stefan
Hi Christoph, great trip report to read, especially because I did the same trip just one week before you. The flight from Akureyri to Grímsey is certainly an exciting experience. I have been lucky to have the seat right behind the cockpit so that I could take some cokpitshots. The plane for my fligh...

Hi Karl,
from what I know September should be ok, however there won't be many Russian built planes this year.
@ Florian: Do you know more about the permission? Especially interested in how and where to obtain it.
Stefan
There is no footpath but traffic on "Rue de l'Aeroport" is slow, so no need for it. When I was there in November last year it was absolutely no problem to walk all way to the spotting location.
Stefan
Hi,
you can get there by walking from the terminal which will take you about 20 minutes.
But don't expect too much, BSL is not very busy.
Stefan
Congratulations Nick and all the best for the next 500
Stefan
No chance, sorry to say.
Please use the feedback forum next time.

There is no need to have the same monitor as the people who look at your photos. It is more important to have a properly calibrated one.

Jump to postHi Paul,
nice picture, thanks for sharing. Is the EY 777 a regular visitor to MAN?
Stefan
Unless the light is completely different (time of the day) it is a clear no for me. How could we know that the pictures were taken during two different approaches? And why would anyone like to have two very similar pictures online?
Stefan
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think there is a payware filter for photoshop that can be use to create the effect.
Stefan
For some people it might be an issue that it's not an perfect sideon. I know some spotters who have very concrete requirements for a, what they call it, 'perfect' shot: - 90 deg. sideon - blue sky with a few clouds - clean background - not more than 200mm focal length - registration visible - approa...

Jump to postFirst one looks too overall too soft with some areas oversharpened and the 2nd one is backlit, resulting in a dark plane on a bright sky.
Stefan
Looks a bit out of focus to me, so I doubt the picture will make it, even if you get the colours right.
Jump to postJaggies do not only appear after oversharpening, they also show up after resizing. With the image files getting larger and larger I strongly recommend to resize a picture in steps of 500px.

Also remember that (almost) all images on airliners.net have been post-processed which is not very difficult but requires some experience. I suggest that you read the upload guide ond the editing workflow which is linked in the photographer's corner. Have fun <img src="http://cdn-www.airliners...

Hi,
I have seen pictures from the ramp in Sharjah that were taken just one week ago, so it must be possible to get access. Also the photographer wrote that he paid like 190 Euros for the access.
