RE: I Feel Encouraged Today....

Luton is always good for a surprise. The regular traffic is not that interesting imo but during my few visits over there I always got some nice specials. If only the weather was more predictable in the UK...

RE: Photoshop Image Size

There is a way to improve the quality significantly:
Resize in steps, eg 2600px -> 2200px, 2200px -> 1800px and so on.
Just try and see the difference, especially useful for shots of planes with thin cheatlines that turn out jagged in the resized version.

I'm uploading a lot of picture taken in evening and morning light conditions and I never had the feeling that such pictures are not wanted here and get rejected just because the screeners don't like them. And if it's an "apparent tendency" why has nobody mentioned that before? <TABLE BORDER=0 ALIGN=...

Stefan, I don't really see your point here. I rejected some of your recent uploads for soft just a few hours ago and I'm pretty sure that the rejection were justified. I think Dusseldorf is a great place for November. On the terraces you are close to the action and you can go inside if it starts raining. Another advantage of DUS is the possibility to take nightshots...

jop, they want all copyrights for that price. 60 Euros seems to be their rate for special pictures because they also offered 40 Euros for the less spectacular picture showing the plane while leaving the runway.

It's not because of the pilot but because of the weird crop. There is nothing special in this picture that would justify such a tight crop. Check out the 'nose'-category to see which crops work and are acceptable to the database.

Hi,

sold the picture to some newspapers and magazines already for a quite good fee.
It's just that I'm really annoyed by such an offer. It's a joke to pay the photographer 60 Euros and re-sell the pictures for hundreds or even thousands. That's insane!

Looks quite ok for me, there are some jaggies visible, so be more careful with sharpening.
For the noise reduction you'll have to get a special software. Google for Neat Image or Noise Ninja and download a trial version.

The first one is oversharpened.
The main problem in the second shot isn't the reflection in the window but the image noise from shooting with high ISO settings.
