Jump to postSave for web allows you to to choose the compression on a scale from 1-100 whereas the save as function is 1-12 only. Smaller steps mean that you can compress the picture so that it is just below 1MB. Save for web also works a bit different, it strips the EXIF for example.

Jump to postAgree with Spence, the save for web option is great in comparison to the standard feature. Shots from the other side should still be possible, but that's only good after noon. Also I found it not easy to shoot from there due to the relatively high fence. Although you can stand on the crash barrier a high ladder would be very useful. As for the permits, they are still valid but right now t...
Jump to postHi,
two points:
1) As already mentioned, the authority stopped issuing new photo permits.
2) Afaik the spot at the Ibis Hotel is not usable anymore due to ongoing construction works. Would probably ask a local before going.
Stefan
Don't think so. Looks more like a cold day that allowed shooting with a lot of focal length.
Stefan
Partly oversharpened now. Especially the titles and the wings show some jaggies. Try to be more selective with your sharpening, eg. do it on a second layer and erase jaggies with the rubber tool.
Stefan
As far as I know there aren't flights to Istanbul scheduled with IL9 anymore.
The only place where you can still shoot them on a regular and predictable basis in Europe is probably Salzburg on certain winter days.
Stefan
I personally think that the compostion of a photo should be done through the viewfinder of the camera and not in postprocessing. With all common DSLRs having a ~ 3:2 aspect ratio, a 16:9 allowance on airliners would mean heavy crops where large parts of the actual photos are cut away.
Stefan

"not sure" is of course not a rejection reason. It was meant as an internal comment as the first screener was not sure about the image and passed it on to another.
