Well when they won’t merge Germanwings and Eurowings, while still not having a solid plan for what exactly the finished product will look like at EW...and that’s before we even get to the Brussels Airlines/Swiss/Austrian messesJump to post
EWR is also a disaster for flow control. Any airplane that touches the airport after 3pm might as well be assumed to be 2 hours or more late for the rest of the day. That certainly hurts profitability. Not only is EWR marginally profitable, it is forcing delays and cancellations into the network My...Jump to post
Some light reading for everyone on, while this crash was a pure tragedy, CRM can and will continue to save lives:

Interesting conundrum I had booking a last-minute one way from PHX to DFW back in February...only non-NK/SY ULCC or WN full fare option was AA. So I looked at their website for the itinerary and tickets...only options for booking were $79 on BE or $789 in First...ZERO regular coach options. I took t...Jump to post
There was no ORD-STN in 1991. STN was flown out of JFK, in 2005 for less than a year, in response to EOS. When EOS folded, it was AXED.
Think I will pass on this one. Enjoyed two A310 flights in my life. The first was in 2001 with Lufthansa between Frankfurt and Amsterdam. A nice surprise for such a short trip. The second came in 2015 with Tarom between Bucharest and Amsterdam. I booked this flight only because of the the A310 (and...Jump to post

It isn’t like Boeing doesn’t have a history of crying unfair is it? Take the tanker contract? The US would have lots of lift by now if Boeing and their tame politicians hadn’t spat their dummies (pacifiers) our. Especially when the DoD FORCED the USAF to buy those A330 tankers when they stated all ...Jump to post

Well, let's bust out the funeral durge for the 757's...wonderful foresight by Boeing.
Congrats to AA.
This order is bad news for literally everyone else who operates short haul flights in Europe. The low price that IAG must be getting is a great competitive advantage. Who would be the casualty when these planes start coming in in 4 years - Wizz, Ryan, easy, Alitalia? I doubt any of them...Ryanair h...Jump to post
I've gotta ask...because this really worries me...how on earth will they be able to SAFELY evac an aircraft with that capacity in a reasonable amount of time? I'm fearing that all these capacity increases with seat pitch decreases is going to lead to scores of people dying in a smoke filled aircraft...Jump to post
737 operators diversify: Good business sense. A320 operators diversify: Stupid. That's been the a.net mantra on this forum since around 2010. But I digress... This is a really surprising move from IAG, considering just about all of their carriers are solely Airbus NB operators. Also, I see this as ...Jump to post

Korean Air still requires this, unless the purchaser uses Verified by Visa or Mastercard Securecode. If they did not use such features, go to the airport and not have the physical credit card, they will be denied check-in. How in the hell is this even legal if they pull this off? Surely there needs to be significant divestiture of assets or something?Jump to post

Good, now they can sell out to Airbus for another dollar and somehow skirt international trade laws in the process. Cause if they sold to Boeing, we all know what the end result would be.Jump to post
The FAA will not allow closure of MDW. Period. There was an absolute shit storm over Meigs Field back in 1994, but Meigs didn’t have any Federal Grant money tied to it and it was just a GA airport. If they tried to close Midway the lawsuits that would fly from the law offices at Southwest will make...Jump to post

Am I the only one who (mis)read that headline and though AA doesn't have A300's anymore? Yep...and the sarcastic thought was "maybe they hit the tail that snapped off" Back to the subject at hand.
