Then they'll say it didn't work...cancel the route after a short time, and we're screwed out of yet another non-stop market that should be served near-daily (F9 and G4 can someh...Jump to post
Yah, this article lost journalistic credibility with this blurb:
"The only serious accident in the airline’s passenger service was in 1988, when a Q400 crash-landed at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport after an engine fire. Four passengers suffered serious injuries."

How hard would it be to connect the terminals via underground walkway (think ATL)? Seems that half the traffic with the trains could be alleviated if they just had a long underground tunnel to give folks the option to walk between terminals instead of being forced to train it with 300 of their best ...Jump to post
Seriously - have UA's OKC-IAD and AA's OKC-DCA taken that much traffic away from WN? Pretty drastic cutbacks by WN lately. WN flyers from OKC now have a lot more options via DAL than they used to. The fact that WN has a nonstop to BWI is miraculous if you compare what is on offer at TUL, which does...Jump to post
Plenty of capacity. Its a short term cut during a low travel demand month. Really not a big deal or some slight against OKC. Considering OKC-BWI has been going daily for nearly a decade now...the reduction down to thrice weekly is HUGE. And all it does is hose us out of more connection opportunitie...Jump to post

That's because they've cut the route so badly over the past decade that it's destroyed their business case for it...it was a self-fulfilling prophecy for them. Now, if I want to head to west Texas from OKC, it's either do the long way around on WN via HOU, or get gouged by AA via DFW.Jump to post
I used MCI-OKC extensively toward the end (mostly in 2013). I cannot recall a flight with more than 50 passengers on it. I too flew it regularly between 2003 and 2010...every time I flew it, it was damn near full...like 2-3 open seats. Then again, my flights were usually Fridays and Sundays. STL mu...Jump to post
OKC does have pretty decent service for it's market size. Pretty much every hub is covered. I wonder about MCI on WN ever being an add. it was served for 20 years but eventually dropped in the past 5-6 years. DAL service ends in 2 months, a route that WN has flown for close to 40 years, they began ...Jump to post

I actually flew in a 3-3-3 TS 310 from LGW to YUL this summer, and it wasn't nearly as bad as some 3-4-3 777's I've flown onJump to post

WN dropping OKC-DAL was a head scratcher for sure. WN's results speak for themselves though so clearly they probably know what they're doing.
As much as I hate AA (too much to be able to post here or whatever), I am quite happy with how much they've increased overall connectivity out of OKC. Rather than flights to non-hubs, I'm just happy that this December, AA will finally connect OKC to all of it's hubs. For a long time all we had was ...Jump to post
Delta's merger was approved in 2008. AA's basically in 2014. It is unfair to compare the two at the moment. Delta was still quite messy just 5 years after the merger. AA's flight attendants just merged only a year ago, November of 2018. It is a very young merger. Give AA until 2023. All the retrofi...Jump to post
Delta doesn’t get a fare premium because of the stupidity of the American public. The Great and Powerful Oz can only keep them distracted so long before they find the man behind the curtain. I'm old enough to remember when this airport was built and billed as an airport that would never be affected by winter weather. My, how times have changed. Just take a shopping cart to Mojave and bring back some 737-300s. Btw, looking like in retrospect a terrible decision to mass retire the 737-300 a year ago. Except they can't, per the FAA. Whatever happens, Herb wouldn’t approve. I have a bad feeling that his legacy will be trashed in a few years. It’s already kinda diminished. Herb's WN is already gone. No earphones when the seatbelt sign is on? That's flat-out dumb. That reminds of the C-5’s rather complicated crosswind chart the F/E used—it was calibrated as the limiting dry component of 32.5 knots. F9 was dramatically different today than of yesterday.
