How hard would it be to connect the terminals via underground walkway (think ATL)? Seems that half the traffic with the trains could be alleviated if they just had a long underground tunnel to give folks the option to walk between terminals instead of being forced to train it with 300 of their best ...

Seriously - have UA's OKC-IAD and AA's OKC-DCA taken that much traffic away from WN? Pretty drastic cutbacks by WN lately. WN flyers from OKC now have a lot more options via DAL than they used to. The fact that WN has a nonstop to BWI is miraculous if you compare what is on offer at TUL, which does...

Plenty of capacity. Its a short term cut during a low travel demand month. Really not a big deal or some slight against OKC. Considering OKC-BWI has been going daily for nearly a decade now...the reduction down to thrice weekly is HUGE. And all it does is hose us out of more connection opportunitie...

That's because they've cut the route so badly over the past decade that it's destroyed their business case for it...it was a self-fulfilling prophecy for them. Now, if I want to head to west Texas from OKC, it's either do the long way around on WN via HOU, or get gouged by AA via DFW.

I used MCI-OKC extensively toward the end (mostly in 2013). I cannot recall a flight with more than 50 passengers on it. OKC does have pretty decent service for it's market size. Pretty much every hub is covered. I wonder about MCI on WN ever being an add. it was served for 20 years but eventually dropped in the past 5-6 years. DAL service ends in 2 months, a route that WN has flown for close to 40 years, they began ...

I actually flew in a 3-3-3 TS 310 from LGW to YUL this summer, and it wasn't nearly as bad as some 3-4-3 777's I've flown on

Delta's merger was approved in 2008. AA's basically in 2014. It is unfair to compare the two at the moment. Delta was still quite messy just 5 years after the merger. Just take a shopping cart to Mojave and bring back some 737-300s. Btw, looking like in retrospect a terrible decision to mass retire the 737-300 a year ago. Except they can't, per the FAA. They can't have classics, NG's, and MAX's all in their fleets simultaneously...with pilots rated to all three....

Whatever happens, Herb wouldn’t approve. I have a bad feeling that his legacy will be trashed in a few years. It’s already kinda diminished. Herb's WN is already gone. Too much inconsistency in service, no 20 minute turns, devaluation of Rapid Rewards, introduction of ancillary fees...take your pick.

That reminds of the C-5’s rather complicated crosswind chart the F/E used—it was calibrated as the limiting dry component of 32.5 knots. The eng would take the reported wind, chase thru a couple curves and say, “you’re within (or out) by half a knot”. We do the same thing on my jet...can't tell you...

It shows up at Tinker AFB from time to time as well...I've probably seen it 20 times over the past 12 years. Not a big deal. Foreign military aircraft come here all the time for exercises.
