RE: How Much Longer Will The NWA Red Tails Be Around?

There was a "How Many Aircraft Are Still In NWA Colors?" topic on the Civil Aviation forum a couple of months ago. I don't know how to link to a topic, but I searched for 'NWA red tail' and it showed up near the top.

A nice shot, but I don't think it would make it here. Some issues which should be possible to correct are leveling and graininess. I would level based on the horizon. It also looks like the sun was high, so there is not a lot of definition on the plane. You could try working with the contrast, but m...

RE: Poor Lighting Conditions / Overcast Days

Hi Dana, The MD11 and 747 both have quite a bit of distortion which I think could be caused by a few different things: 1. Oversharpening 2. Heat haze 3. Shooting at maximum zoom 4. Cropping too severely My impression is that there is more here than just oversharpening, and I believe that any of reas...

RE: 2nd Rejection (contrast, Noise) - Need Help

Hi,

I do not see any obvious grain in the second one, but now it looks dark, and there is still not a lot of contrast. The white looks more gray, even in the first photo. I think the basic issue is that the lighting was not in your favor.

RE: So I Tried Uploading A Creative Shot

As I understand it, most rejection reasons still apply even if you are trying to be creative, unless, for example, the softness or darkness is by design, and even then it would be a judgement call. In this case, there does not appear to be any particular reason to make the shot soft or dark, so thos...

Hi Rob, Looks pretty good to me. I think the exposure is okay. The biggest problem might be that most of the plane is shaded, and I don't know how much you can help that with editing. I'd definitely crop tighter if the quality does not suffer, and I also think it could stand to be sharpened a bit mo...
