Re: OAG Changes 1/5/2021:DL Resumes RDU-AUS/JAX/LAS, Ups FLL to 3X;B6 Trims MAR

UA has yet to "whittle down'' their schedule from Feb 1 on. It's got to happen by next week and it will be long. I thought the airlines had a better idea by now of what to expect at least two months out. Wonder why UA is holding out so long. Same with AS. Their Feb 11 schedule is still full-bl...

Re: OAG Changes 1/5/2021:DL Resumes RDU-AUS/JAX/LAS, Ups FLL to 3X;B6 Trims MAR

DL is probably feeling the pressure from B6 to protect whatever is left of their RDU focus city. I also think DL should be as aggressive right now with AUS the same way B6 has been with RDU as of late. AUS could really be in play for DL as a true focus city if they play their cards right. I'm not s...

Many other airports show planes at the gates so any idea why Google selectively removed them ...

Delta was fully supportive of this terminal project, even rushing it to completion during COVID. That tells me they found it to be very cost-effective which translates into limited amenities for typical passengers.

Senate Again Debating CARES2 for Airlines and Airports

CARES2 appears to be buried in the primary COVID Relief bill being debated in the Senate. I have mixed feelings about this as I feel airlines need to make decisions based on the economics, but... While details of a final coronavirus relief package are still unclear, a bipartisan $908 billion comprom...

Re: US DOT Grants ANC international passenger transfer rights

I am confused. Are they saying that airside transfers will be possible at ANC? If not, forget it - what would be the advantage of routing through ANC from a passenger's perspective? As of now this has not worked because : Post-911 TSA stopped allowing passengers to stay onboard on intl flights that...

Re: US DOT Grants ANC international passenger transfer rights

kudos for the work the ANC airport team did in the application, but this is going nowhere. Airplanes can fly cheaper and farther non-stop to the US, and thats what people want. Stopping in ANC literally for no reason isn't going to be that attractive. I think you're forgetting about today's real mo...

Re: US DOT Grants ANC international passenger transfer rights

You don't even need ANC. AeroMexico pre-COVID was flying daily MEX-NRT and 5x weekly MEX-ICN non-stop both ways. There is ANA competition on MEX-NRT. Note this is at the edge of the B787's range and they cancelled the Shanghai/PVG flight because it required a TIJ stop west-bound which wasn't capita...

I agree it can’t succeed. I’d say AUS is unlikely to either. How do they crew these? They fly the crew out on other airlines? Or 96 hour turn?

Re: OAG Changes 12/8/2020:Q1 Takedown AA/BA/DL/G4/NK/UA;UA Adds ORD-RDM

I guess the US travel ban will stay until 1st March at least in the eyes of some TATL airlines...I don't blame them. Even if the travel ban is lifted, I doubt the traffic would return until the Spring/Summer 2021. Optimist! Thanks once again, enilria. I agree that it's amazing how weak AUS, my home...

Re: DOT Revisits "Emotional Support Animal" Rules

I think this was political timing. They knew this change would create some complaints from the handicapped, so they waited for the middle of a pandemic when it would get little notice and few are flying.

Re: AA sues DL over the use of the term “Flagship”

If it’s long established branding, and DL is in the same industry, AA has a valid case. Calling an aircraft your flagship is one thing. But to extend it to onboard product and lounges when a main competitor has been using that branding for decades is not kosher. Agreed. When they use "flagship...

Re: 1% of pax cause 50% of emissions

No, the article isn't saying 1% passenger. Instead it is talking about 1% global population, aka 70 Million people, compares to 11% who have actually fly on an aircraft and 4% world population that have flown aboard. Which mean every one in four world population who have travelled aboard on a plane...
