Anything in the DC9 family. We are mounted engines. 2×3 seating. It’s just different than most other mainline aircraft. It's pretty similar to the Fokker F-28 series (including F-70 / F-100). I believe, in 1988, Carl Icahn (TWA) attempted to acquire Eastern from Texas Air. It was his decision to pull out.

Before the 1986 sale, many airlines sought pieces of Eastern. Merger was out of question. Sad showdown.

Merger between Eastern and Pan Am would be a good one.

Ticket jackets were relatively expensive with the multi color printing, the extra slots, slits and pockets. They hit the station's budget, so we were supposed to use them judiciously. We of course would substitute a competitor's jacket for one of ours. but with help of paid advertisements on the back
