Can someone explain what VA675 is? It’s a MEL-PER flight that just departed at 12:05am with a scheduled arrival of 1:40am. I assume it’s a repositioning flight, but wouldn’t it have a 4 digit code then? Would VA have sold seats on this unusually timed flight?Jump to post

When I flew QF SYD-JNB and our flight was 2 hours late, the cabin manager read out all the connecting flights on both SA and Comair to domestic destinations that passengers would now miss, and then their replacement services. Took a very very long time as she repeated everything twice.Jump to post
I really really hope NH to PER actually materialises. Working in tourism focused retail in MEL, I’ve seen the number of Japanese tourists absolutely skyrocket since JL and QF launched direct services.
I wonder if it would be worth teaming up with VA for connections to places like BME.
Having been for Fiji I remember it was a bit of a struggle getting to the airport for a 7am flight, especially when your resort is 90 minutes away. 5J to PER would be fantastic, and probably more suited to the market than PR. A route perfect for the 321neo. It's nice to see VA getting a little more creative and announcing expansion with PER-HBA and now NTL-AKL. I think if they focus on untapped markets where they can develop a niche for themselves as opposed to fighting QF head on, things could turn around.
I'd love to see PER-AYQ, MEL-BME OR HBA-AKL.
