I've had good luck using Trivago to book hotels as it searches multiple sites to find the best deal. Often, the cheaper prices are offered by smaller hotel booking sites (which are based in places like Thailand) so be aware you'll be charged from a foreign company if you book through them.

Considering they put on a primer (green) coat or perhaps two, it is not required to strip the paint off. I recall hearing of aircraft where the previous operator's livery can still be seen beneath the new paintjob so I guess not stripping the paint is kind of a way of cutting corners.
