Again this demonstrates the silliness of trying to compete against two aircraft families with one airplane family. It is doing well against the 777, but not the 787-3 (which itself is marginal) or the 787-8.

I dont see why GE doesn't move forward on this. The 777 will eventually be supplanted by both the future replacement Boeing will do for it, and the largest version of the A-350.

15 % or greater is the magic number for the 737RS. So in the end, unless this engine delivers that, it means nothing to the start of a new program.

An interesting thought, given EMB desire to enter the 100-130 seat catagory. If they were able to develop a new platform based on the very economical E-190/195 series, that could spring a surprise on Boeing in this critical market.

An interesting article. 7 years away sounds about right to me from the little I know. Carson said he was excited about the 3 different technologies being presented right now. I wonder how each is different from the other and which one holds the most promise at this point.
