Re: Coronavirus Non Aviation Thread - April 2020

Actually, Sweden is looking great. Overall new cases are stable, but ICU hospitalization are decreasing and so are new daily deaths. They have successfully flattened the curve without closing up shop. This all means it's probably just a matter of time before the chart you posted sees a drop in deat...

No doubt they are doing it very tough, but the very existence of the company, really? Once the epidemic is over and air travel restarts, the world will once again need aircraft and no-one will be in a better position to pick up that business than Airbus and Boeing. I doubt there will be a coup. People have vastly exaggerated Bolsonaro’s ties to the military, merely because he was once part of the military a long time ago. Confluence of factors in my view: The lack of a scope compliant E2, Boeing cash position, Brazilian political situation, and finally COVID-19. Embraer has gone through worse and survived. If the time isn’t right, or perhaps too many restrictions place on the deal by Brazil, it is still possible to pursue joint ventures with others, if necessary.

But everything is on hold right now. We’ll have to wait until after the pandemic.

Pilots at AA and I assume DL and UA will not fold on scope. And from the pilots I've talked to, they really have no desire to fly large regional jets because the pay would suck.
