C-GOFW is listed as a A330E, not a X version. Will this be the first A330 enhanced for AC? I think the A330Es have the higher MTW and the moving map display. https://www.airfleets.net/flottecie/Air%20Canada-planed-a330.htm KrisYYZ First, the "moving map", you mean on the IFE systems? That...

I hope this is true and not just a negotiation tactic towards Boeing. AC’s executives have said in the past the there is no need for fleet growth, hence no additional 787s. I wonder if the A330 NEOs would replace the B788s for the mainline, the B788s could work for Rouge as a partial B763 replacemen...

Jump to postSomewhat unrelated, but why is AC’s A223 cruising at such low altitude? I’ve never seen her fly above FL280. Is this related to the climb N1 issue?

I think 2020 will be a year of rebuilding for Boeing. Their corporate image is hurting big time, they’re the new poster boy for what is wrong with today’s corporate culture. Profiteering over quality and due diligence, outsourcing on steroids and too close of a relationship with regulators that has ...
Jump to postAs many have mentioned, AC likes to get every single mile possible out of their aircraft. AC owned 10 out of the 19 77Ws, and 4 out of the 6 as of 2019. I’m no expert, but to me that indicates they are less likely to withdraw or replace the type until they’re nearing the end of their operational lif...
Jump to postThanks for posting this! Great report. I agree with you, Airbus missed the opportunity for a cabin refresh with the NEO line.

Does YOW have enough widebody gates? I think gate 17 or 15 one the 763 usually use.
YOW is a nice airport, but having a full 788 and A343 arrive at the same time will be a big change capacity wise for the airport. I know they’re expanding the security area

It’s official! https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/air-canada-transat-deal-1.5192056 “Shareholders will have to weigh in and regulatory agencies will have a say, as the move would consolidate Canada's airline industry in even fewer hands, against the backdrop of more upheaval in the industry. Jump to postBoeing played around with the 767 design, making it bigger before airlines told them just build a new plane, the 777.

I still don’t see how a single engine fighter would work for us. If northern sovereignty is a priority, and given the size of our airspace, we need something that has a fighting chance of making an airfield on a single working engine. The Super Hornet is still my pick, it’s relatively cheap, availab...

Jump to postHey KrisYYZ, To appeal to / impress Trump even more than just simply increasing spending, shouldn't the Hungarians have ordered some American equipment? Meh, it's okay. I'm super biased but every time I see the new LH c/s, I see the old Malev colours.
The Hungarian Air Force is buying two former Air Berlin A319s for civil, military and humanitarian use. Impressive expansion. I guess this means the A333 will be staying longer, or more TATLs will be flown with the 737Max. Are there enough international gates at YYZ? Seems like they didn't put the roundel on the engine this time like they do on the 787.
Does the A340 family have any future as a freighter? Or is it too under-powered, with the required structural modification not being economical? With oil prices low, and forecasted to stay low, it just seems like a waste to send these birds to the desert. I believe the last A340, a -600 was built in...

Jump to postVery odd since LOT doesn't have a hub in Budapest. Honestly, I don't think it'll work for them. There's a reason it's called LOT Polish airlines.
