I may think the regulation stupid, but it's still on the books so I still do it.

It doesn't really inconvenience me much and prevents me from being the idiot who slowed the line down when people are trying to get through security.

RE: Do Any Billionaires Ever Fly Commercial?

Most billionaires are business people whose work time is considered valuable enough that their company pays for them to fly private. For instance, Steve Jobs gets paid $1.00 by Apple (and a huge amount of stock options), but they bought him a jet. What they fly on vacation is anyone's guess. That sa...

I think part of the reason the plane has earned the moniker is the length of its career, as well being part of the whole 747 program in general. There are whole generations of people that equate the 747 with international travel. The plane has worn the livery of most of the great historical airlines...

There is absolutely no way the US governments could force GE and Pratt to do it without completely demolishing the law. You're talking about technology from two fierce competitors being used in the same engine. There's no way they would ever go for it. Especially Pratt if GTFs turn out to deliver the improvements they promise.

Perfect. This thread has amazing possibilities. Not only can we have an A vs. B argument and a free trade vs. protectionism argument, but a union vs. non-union argument as well.

This thread will be epic.
