AA has never been very enthusiastic with respect to service from secondary airports in its hub markets (think BUR, DAL, EWR, FLL, ISP, LGB, MDW, MKE, PBI, SNA etc.). Hardly surprising to see IAD lose MIA. Now that LAX-DCA is at 2x daily, they will probably cut LAX-IAD next.

I'm interested to see what happens with Swoop. Going to Canada has always been very expensive from anywhere in the U.S., especially the less competitive places like YLW and YYJ. I certainly wouldn't be upset to see some dirt cheap fares on LAX-YLW/YYJ, for example... though I realize far less appeal...

I sure hope not! The E-175s that have replaced Q400s on routes like STS-SAN and DEN-EGE are *far* superior. I'm glad UA got rid of theirs (inherited from CO) and the sooner AS does the same the better!

I wonder if we could see AA give ORD-ANC another try now that this plane is available? It's not like DFW, LAX and PHX are convenient ways to reach Alaska from, say, BOS or DTW...
