I doubt they are closing doors. They are much needed right now to transport supplies. I'm sure they are also getting a few charters during this time for medical.
I sure hope they aren't closing. Penn Air on the other hand, that poor airline might be on the verge.
Happy April Fool's day my fellow a.nutters!!! We finally made it to April! March felt like 10 years. In all seriousness, I hope each and every member here is okay health wise. And I really hope that we see things get better soon. I also hope if you work for an airline, that this too shall pass, and ...Jump to post
I have always been fascinated with Porter. I think it's safe to agree that they didn't bite off more than they could chew. I also believe they have invested their profits into paying debt. I would love to see Porter get the 220. The future is still possible, but for now. I am glad to see them hangin...Jump to post
This was I am sure based on Seattle's massive cruise ship loads during the summer. Unfortunately, with the way things are looking, I am doubtful it will happen now. Everything is pretty much dead here...the lighter traffic at SEA is very noticeable. Hopefully some things bounce back heading into th...Jump to post
https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/asia/plane-crash-philippines-manila-airport-naia-lionair-12587828 Seems like the head of the Philippine Red Cross was on the plane The wreckage to me looks like it was survivable. To see the main exit door still closed just gives me chills. Perhaps they couldn't...Jump to post
Is there just a way for the airlines to hit the pause button? I mean, literally just stopping almost everything, only operating needs for supplies and emergency transport? It baffles me that airlines are just looking at percentage cuts, instead of just parking it and not taking additional financial ...Jump to post
So sad. Wish we had hopped on a plane a few days ago to Hawaii. I mean, if I am going to be quarantined, I would rather be in Hawaii.
I know this is going to hit Hawaiian hard, but I really hope when this is all over with, the airlines get back to normal.
Wow!!! Awesome TR!! I absolutely love and miss Virgin America. Looks like they took out all the Red systems from the plane. Wish AS would adopt the Virgin first class seats. Now, the food looks awesome too! Alaska has really improved the food service. One thing I cannot fly AS without is their chees...Jump to post
Agreed. The health crisis will calm down in a couple of months if we can follow the advice of our health leaders and suck it up for the next 4 weeks. The financial crisis will be with us for over a year at least. Perhaps. Perhaps not. Let’s not forget the underlying fundamentals of the economy were...Jump to post
Can't help you out much, but it was N467US. Ran a Google search: DB Cooper Northwest 727, and there are a few pictures of the aircraft in there. Appears it was a white top, blue chreat, and polished aluminum bottom fuselage. Wings also appear to be polished aluminum. Wing to body appears to be Boein...Jump to post
Sorry for the stupid question, but... Is Compass just shutting down for now? Or, is Compass literally going out of business? This is just so horrible. They are shutting down permanently. No reason for them to shut down temporarily as they don’t own anything. Without a contract with AA or DL they ef...Jump to post
Doesn't Tran States own Compass and another outfit? I noticed today that JSX has already abandoned plans for BFI-PDX. COVID-19 or just no bookings? I got a cancellation notice, they said they are postponing this. But, tonight I tried to book JSX from BFI to OAK, and there was nothing available. A look at their route map shows the service doesn't exi...Jump to post
JSX Airlines or JetSuite X cancelled the planned Seattle to Portland flights about 2 weeks ago. I just tried to book Seattle to Oakland, and it appears that has been stopped? Route map appears to have take Seattle out all together now. Does anyone know if this is temporary, or permanent? I have not ...Jump to post
I was already saddened by the news they were closing at the end of the year. Even sadder that it's happening sooner. My heart goes to each and every employee there, and I sincerely hope they are all able to find work ASAP.

There is no doubt there will be failures. But... After the dust settles, those that survive will bounce back. Then comes the need to put the cheeks in the seats. If anyone should know, this industry is one of the most vulenrable in any world crisis. The airlines that have put away for rainy days wil...Jump to post
Well.... I have to ask this... Anyone remember when Doug Parker said the airline would never lose money again? Anyone get his thoughts as of lately on that outrageous statement? I know he is cocky, but this may come back to haunt him. I sincerely hope none of the airline go bankrupt, or fail. Some a...Jump to post
Did Flybe try to cut costs and cut non profitable routes? Would be nice to see a timeline of the airline during its peak, to it's demise. What was the situation to bring them to this? Did Flybe put all it's hope on the sale, only for the buyer to back out at the last second? And most importantly, do...Jump to post
I think it brings temporary relief to Boeing and the airlines actually. We all said a 9/11 would never happen again, but this is virus is impacting pretty hard.
I heard oil is diving pretty big too, so that may help a little as well.
I just learned of Flybe's collapse. Absolutely crushed for the workers. What a colorful little airline, one I admired so much. I sincerely wish the employees the best, and hope they will secure work ASAP. I heard some of their pensions may be in peril? This just sucks so bad.Jump to post
Meh... Okay, I am lying! That was an awesome Trip report! But, no picture of the bathroom?!!! It looks very comfortable, and certainly worth the investment IMO. I wonder why the FA didn't let you have both options for the last snack? I mean, if they had an extra, I don't see a problem with it. Again...Jump to post
Boy do I miss the old Virgin America layout. It is sad to see how bland Alaska made the VX planes. I liked the inflight entertainment system VX had too. Oh well.... Sigh... But!! That fruit and cheese plate AS is absolutely delicious!Jump to post
I heard WN was kicking the tires on the C Series a few years ago. How about the 220? I think it would be a perfect compliment to their current fleet, and be helpful in markets the 737 isn't so hot on. Anyone with the ability to make a WN paint job on the A220? I bet it would look sexy on it too.Jump to post
That just pisses me off beyond words! I hope they find those responsible! I also hope this brings a better security program for all involved. I cannot stand thieves! Hope they are able to get them fixed or replaced soon.Jump to post
My opinion of course, I think Delta has a better product, and household name. If I was looking to book a flight, and the same fare was offered by DL and AA, I am booking DL. Having flown both DL and AA alot recently, I found my DL flights to be much more comfortable. The first class product DL has i...Jump to post
Barry is back? The guy is slithering around trying to take people's money again. Hilarious! It will never happen.
I recline. But!!! I also take the time to ask the person behind me if it is okay. I had a guy once who was over 6 feet tall behind me once, and his legs were crammed against my seat back. I just simply didn't recline, cuz it wasn't gonna happen. When meals are served, I don't move that seat back or ...Jump to post
I can give an example of how it can be forgot!!! Yep, almost happened to me. Almost. I was walking out an Airbus 321 several years ago when I worked for US Airways. Anyone think Compass might be staying in SEA after all? Man that would be great if AA and AS inked a deal with Compass. I mean, for it's employees, it would be great!Jump to post
Awesome trip report!! I still have not flown on the A220 yet!! I am planning a trip on one soon, SEA to SJC. It looks like a beast of a plane for sure. I would have been bummed out of my return flight was replaced by another plane though. But... If it's gonna happen, the 757 is the way to go. I got ...Jump to post
There is no doubt in my mind that Breeze will be a success. Neeleman is a genius in terms of creating successful airlines. Glad to hear everyone made it out okay! It appears they touched down on the threshold, where the snow is deep? That could have ripped the 2 main gears off if that's the case. That runway also looks awful, like an ice skating rink!Jump to post

The cliff at the end of the runway is quite steep. right after the runway there is concrete bank for landing lights, followed by a road, another concrete wall, construction road, a ditch and the highway wall. Sounds like not only the crew made a poor choice, but even the tower did too. Those tail winds were no joke. Praying all will recover. What can be done to fix the end of that runway? Can they fill in that area so it's not such a drop off? I am looking at maps, and it looks like it could be done. At ...Jump to post
