Any updates on the survivors? Also, how many were killed on the ground? I would be curious to know if Boeing will send someone to help with the investigation. Besides maintenance as a possibility, another thought would be possible birds? Whatever the case may be, I am hopeful the remaining survivors...

I had high hopes for Sun Valley. At least they are keeping the SEA run. As for SAN to MMH, I wonder if it would have worked seasonally?

I guess it depends on what we're considering a "substantial" domestic presence. There definitely was one, but relatively speaking if you look at route maps from the early 80's, the number of destinations Northwest served when compared to DL, AA, USAir, and UA certainly don't look too subs...

Wow, this is crazy! As Brick has shown, hail storms can indeed be very localized. Having seen the bipolar weather in DEN first hand, that airport seems to welcome some crazy weather! I think its location is setup for the perfect storms.

Keep in mind alot of cruises leave and arrive from both SEA and YVR. In fact, alot of the ships depart SEA for a 7 night Alaska cruise and end in YVR.
