Swissair and SABENA are the only original orderers that no longer operate the type...

whats been said about being able to swap PW4000s between the 744 and 767 is correct, only change is connecting up the second hydraulic system to the engine and the 767, and a minor circuit swap. (all PW4000s have 2 hydraulic feeds, 747 only uses 1 per engine though, the other is left sealed)

Ok well this might be a little off topic but here goes: Anytime a book with planes has been remade into a movie, they screwed it up: good examples: John J Nance's Pandora's Box and Medusa's Child, both were made into miniseries. In medusas child the plane was a 727... in the TV series it was changed...

Just to point out....

The Tu-144 at Monino is sealed up... no way to get inside (even if u could jump up the 35' to the door!)

Also i believe CCCP-68002 was the one that crashed in Paris, dont know what happened to CCCP-68001.....

Ive been on Saabs where they sip up 2 to low idle and leave 1 off for a while (once 10 minutes) at the gate... i never could figure out why other than the baggage guys were still working.

well from that info, its either a 767 or MAYBE an A310, both of those were in DL fleet at the end of 1991, but im not sure when the PanAm 310s started to show up. heres the easy way to deal with this: rip out the overhead racks all together! thats right, no more overhead stroage... you want your bag in the cabin, stick it under the seat. ok well here in the middle of nowhere we are right under the main ORD-Europe route so we see (all be it a LOOOOOONG way up): 777s, 767s, A330s, A340s, 747s, MD-11s, DC-10s, some L1011s... Also the odd: DC-8F, A310, IL-96, 707, heck even B-52s, C141s, C5As.... also closer to the ground we see Beavers...
