RE: Why No Thrust Reverse?

I think it's common today that reverse thrust is only activated if they need to. When your RWY is long enough, why should you waste money on reversing? Another thing is noise emission I think. Crews could be advised not to use the reverse thrust if they can avoid it in order to cause less noise. Jus...

RE: EF 100-400mm Lens Soft Due To Age?

AFAIK you can send your DSLR body and the lens to Canon to make them adjust the lens and body as good as they can.

At least in Germany that's possible and a commonly used service.

But normally it should not become softer over time.... strange thing...

Thanks for explaning, didn't know about that issue of airflow speed before but regarding the effects you mentioned of shockwaves it makes sense. So reflecting this to the DC-8 test, it's more problematic to retain control about the aircrafts bank and pitch due to the shift of lift and to keep the en...

Okay, so as for the Concorde for example, did they slow down the airflow before it entered the engines or were the Olys build for operation way beyond mach 1? Also what happens at mach 2? Will this cause the lift to shift again or does it only shift the first time you're going supersonic? A Concorde...

To IS Or Not IS That Is The Question

There is basically no need for an IS if you have sufficient light. Why Is An A/c Engine Only Efficient At High Alt?

Hi there, I was just wondering why an aircraft engine isn't fuel efficient in low altitude but much more at high altitudes. I don't have exact figures now, but I think I read somewhere, that i cruise, the fuel burn is only a quarter of the amount used during takeoff. Of course, in cruise your're not...

Hi, well I'm using the new 13inch MacBook. As a photographer I'm using this device only for a quick review and maybe some minor editing to show off to clients. Everything else would drive me nuts. It's fast enough, no doubt about that, but real post processing on that tiny screen is kinda difficult....

RE: Is This Sharp?

I think you could gain some more sharpness in this picture by duplicating the layer of the image, filter that copy with highpass filter (2-5px) and then blend it with soft light onto the original image. That should give you the extra sharpness you need.

cheers,
dennis
