Were you trying to find out if China supplies Fuel to North Korea by tankering and defueling passenger planes? Isn't normal refueling on the left wing? Do the right refuel couplings have a refuel panel? I only know the 747 where the refuel panel is on the left wing only. The right wind only has an a...Jump to post
My concern would be, as an English-only speaking pilot, how would know that the controller, speaking French, just cleared a guy to cross the runway that moments earlier he cleared you to take off from. If everyone on the frequency is speaking the same language, it's easier to keep track of what eve...Jump to post
I've probably spent something crazy like $2000 over the past ten years trying to find the perfect piece of carry on luggage. I've had Samsonite, Travelpro, Heys, Swiss Gear, Delsey among others and they've ended up largely being a disappointment. I end up gifting them to my family and friends who a...Jump to post
LH Austin Press Release Aircraft will be an A330-300, first flight May 3rd, 5 weekly flights Now if only they would load the flights (excited to see the flight times and the prices). Well they are at least hinted in the linked press release: Apart from Tuesday and Thursday, LH 468 will leave the Lu...Jump to post
Chapter 1-86-062 in the airplane weight and balance manual provides the engine CG position in the airplane coordinate system.
Chapter 3-40-2 in the Airplane Recovery Document has usually the same information.
Both is for valid for Boeing but as you said Trent 1000....
That's a good first step but I'm afraid that this would not make anything better. As far as I understand the slow deliveries before the new sanctions were mainly because of sanctions in the banking and financial sector. If there's no improvement civil aviation may not benefit at all when there are n...Jump to post
I used the direct Condor flight to Las Vegas as well. I had to attend a trade show. But when the show was over I did what most Germans do who come to Vegas: They spend a night or two in town, see the sights, visit a show, spend some money gambling. But then they get a rental car for a one, two or t...Jump to post
Does anyone remember the equivalent system on the DC-9 / MD-80? It has a retractable mirror on the glareshield that is used with a standby compass on the wall behind the pilot. That has nothing to do with seat position On the MD80 the compass could not be mounted above the glareshield due to excess...Jump to post
From time to time I get an A321 with jetways on 1L and 2L.
I like that as the struggle with hand baggage is always the reason for long queues in the aisle and jetways. Boardings through two doors reduces that a bit. This applies for boarding and deboarding.

They could rename that ocean to "Paciic".
That way everyone can profit.
Could it also have been because of rejected takeoff requirements at Reno?Jump to post
I was watching a You Tube video of movements at LAX in the early 1990s. One of the jets was Access Air 732 with an added cowling on the back of the engine. I know "cowling" is the wrong word but I don't know what else to call it. I looked through the data base here and found it but I don'...Jump to post

Is the plan to still offer an 8 door version of the -9 for airlines with less dense configurations? (As opposed to the 10 door configuration on this test frame). Or will it be like the 737-900ER, where you get the door anyways, and just block it off? I'm not sure if this is legally possible due to ...Jump to post
Because spending more time beyond the MAX's current range limits on a narrowbody jet sounds like hell 35,000 feet above Earth. Nobody in a BBJ, ACJ or Gulfstream has a problem with that. All a matter of cabin and service. Oh come on, everyone knows what I meant. If I were on a private jet, then yea...Jump to post

Completely different idea: What about taking the 707-300B and change it to 2 engines? You get a long enough and well known fuselage, 737 cocpkit and cabin, longer gear struts and enough ground clearance. Wings have been changed before on the same TCDS (e.g. 747-8). In the end you have a 707-800X, ma...Jump to post

Whatever you do, don't take the Sheraton at the airport. It is 70's style with no free wifi in the rooms. The hotel offerings at the Gateway Gardens are usually nice and reasonable priced. Terminal 2 (AF) is within walking distance. Steigenberger and Holiday Inn are my favourites. Something complete...Jump to post
The A380 will beat out the 748 on just about every metric so the real question is why did LH, KE, and CA ordered the 748? Except as a freighter. And additionally except for the belly cargo capability. The 748 hauls much more underfloor cargo than the A380. Good for LH, KE and CA. Probably not neces...Jump to post

The cockpit seems to be from a DC-8. The layout and shades of grey make me believe that this is an island airport, maybe caribbean. The A330-200 seems also very powerful to me.
I've also have had several flights with A332 with light fuel load (up to 3 hours) and light passenger load (up to 30) and we were airborne after what felt like less than 800 meters with an initial climb right up to FL400.
Just done a rough calculation on the amount of premium seats each airline offers, albeit with some caveats: - Based purely on aircraft with longhaul seat configurations (i.e. for BA that includes First, Club World, and both World Traveller Cabins etc) - I've counted F/J/W as Premium cabins (can red...Jump to post

In an interview with employees last week CEO Spohr stated that they are evaluating further A350 and B787 as replacement for "old quads and the old fleet in Austria" but there is no decision imminent.Jump to post
