The only aircraft where lateral imbalance really matters (apart from freighters) is the 767.
Due to the narrow cargo holds LD-3 containers can only be loaded on one site and operators must have a procedure to check the effect. Depending on the resulting moment, maximum weight might be restricted.

Lufthansa A330-200 fleet was between 2 and 3 years old when aquired, but left the fleet after just 4 years of service.
Now the planes are flying with TAP, Virgin, Brussels and Air Caraibes.

Lufthansa A340-200 fleet was aquired mostly new and left after 10 years of service, mostly to SAA.

and it includes Quito as hot and high airport.

There are also longer routes possible like UIO-PKU (Quito - Pekanbaru at 10.807 nm) but that's far less viable.

All EDW A343 just got completely new nice cabins. So I guess that they will be around a bit longer.
The same applies to the newest Swiss A343, as stated above by jghealey.

The wings have been strengthened. AFAIK this was the only fix.
Not all 747-8 have been retrofitted though, some are still flying without activated HST. The strengthening introduced quite some weight.

The fuel capacity of the 777x is 52k vs 48k gallons. Yet with this extra fuel it only flies 200nm further... The range isn't simply determined by the maximum fuel capacity (even though it could be a limiting factor at times). it is rather determined by the payload/range chart for a specific payload...
