If there's smoke damage on the top of the aircraft, could it be a different electrical problem?

I'm not saying that's any better considering how reliant this A/C is on electronics.. but, maybe not a battery issue?

I would assume that no international passengers would be allowed to deplane. Why not use an e-cig so the smoke doesn't go through the plane!?

I'm amazed people still smoke when those are available. I realize their health effects may be untested, and they may not be 100% safe either, but it can't be worse than regular smoke!
