RE: Delta & Honolulu Flight To Dallas

Clarification, there is NO lumbar support on BusinessElite nor 764 Domestic F/C. The 764 was designed specifically as the tri-star replacement to HNL. Hence the engine selection. 2cn is right when he states that BizElite will not be placed on any ATL-HNL flight. The loads are too high to warrant B/E...

Flpuck6, you're probably right on with that statement. None the less, Aisle seats are not designed narrower or wider than the rest of the seats in a double, triple, quad, or quint seat assys. There are instances of narrower seats near canted sections of the aircraft, but thats really about it.

Airline seats vary in cost based on complexity obviously. IFE, PC Power, Prox Lights, In-SEat Power, all factor into a seat. E/C seat typically run around 4-5K per pax place, Dom B/C is more like 6-7K, Int B/C around 9-10, Int F/C can get as high as 15-20K per pax place. These prices are rule of thu...

There is not one single DL aircraft that has "worn out" seats. Each dress cover is cleaned daily, each cushion and dress cover are swapped out yearly if not sooner than that. Some tapestries maybe worn, and I'll grant you that, but the cleaning record of DL's cleaning crew service is impeccable. May...

For DL, and especial D-ALPA, its not the quality of the seats in F/C, but rather whether or not the rest facilities they recieve meets the D-ALPA made ALPA crew rest policy. HAL you are right on with your assesment of crew rest. Speaking in Deltas case, the L1011 had a three0man flight deck crew, so DL did not have to reserve a F/C seat for the pilot. DL is not getting rid of the MD-11. It has tried, but to opt out of its lease commitments would be too costly. Performance and maintenance issues are problems but DL will be keeping the MD-11 for a good 6-9 years. 813 was just painted in new colors!

You can only have 18.5" between armrest pax seat widths if your aisle widths are about 16.5" large. Thats not a very big aisle. I hope your not fat or have fat F/A's working those aisles or its going to be a tight squeeze.

There are a lot more reasons why there are different size seat widths on aircraft. Most airlines do not comensate passengers with a wider seat because they are sitting in a center seat.
