Bulkhead/monument seats on the 777 do not have bigger in-arm TV's than the rest of E/C. The monument mounted screens are larger but they are not PTV's. The bulkhead mounted screens on the MD-11 are actually quite tiny. The front row seats on all E/C seats have in-arm tray tables, hence why you can't...

and also just to add...the perception of 2-5-2 is a lot worse than actually sitting in 2-5-2 except unless you get stuck in the middle seat on a 100% LF flight.

Bestwwestern..the old E/C 77 seats had the call button on top of the arm rest (I think that is what you meant). It was part of the telephony and remote DPCU handset for the PTV's. DL is only modding 777 aircraft 7002 due to be put back in service ithe second week of january.

The 764 E/C seats have all been modified and are quite nice. The F/C seats are in the early stages of a redesign.

Paintschemes aren't route based. The A/C are routed throughout the system based on scheduled maintenance and A/C availability (or there lack of). All delta aircraft from Boeing have been defereed until 2003. All aircraft after April of '02 have been taken off the Boeing firing order, thus won't be built. 1817-1821 will be stored somewhere TBD if no buyer is found (which is obviously highly improbable that no buyer will be found).

hmmmm not to say that this is the only reason, but 9/11 happened....also if you are flying in and out of BNA then DLX happened as well on at least some of your flights... You are right, no food service in E/C of distances less than 1750 miles which equates to something like 2.5 hours, but then again...

some b767 aircraft have over wing hatches, but the two most notable differences are

1) The main landing gear of the 777 have 6 tires on each main gear while the 767 only has 4...

2) The 777 has a knife-wedge tail similar to the MD-80 series....

I told everyone back a while that the first MD-11 was due to be proto-typed in November...HOWEVER....9/11 but a serious hold to many things, one of which is the painting of the MD-11. DL currently has trans-pac aircraft going through HMV right now but I have not heard of a new date for the MD-11 pro...

Thats a good idea VR...but its not fool proof...just like gate jumping at a train station....in order to stop an incident like today...you'd need full height gate doors that open and close. If that happens, plan on being at the airport 5 hours before the flight.
