RE: Mike Boyd On A380 (Again)

Hello all, One aspect of the 380 launch is in fact being overlooked by almost everybody on this thread :AI had no choice,THEY HAD TO OFFER THE 380. Why? Two main reasons : One is thefamily concept,it is a lot better to cover as much as possibl...

RE: A320 Throttles

Philsquares : "...from my perspective, the throttle quadrant is identical..." They can't be as Bs' levers are longer and their arc greater. Speedracer1407, Actually what you see as chunky levers are just a sheet of metal folded to look solid. And Yes,the Airbus solution is simpler. As you can see on t...

RE: What Do Auto Brakes Control

FSPilot747,
Wrong. There is a 2 second delay after the ground spoilers deploy at touch down before the autobrake is activated.
On the newest software, on MED setting, the deceleration is limited to LOW as long as the nose wheel strut is not compressed.
Hope that helps.

HAWK21M, Slamclick is right but YOU ARE NOT allowed to do what he did ! Every instructor will -shall - tell you that you shall crosscheck the switch position with the actual status of that system, hence the use of the system pages of your ECAM -or EICAS-. On the previous generation,ie the 737-200, th...

Slamclick, I enjoyed your post, real old timer's down to the point observations ! On the other hand,I am a bit puzzled : Isn't the dark=ok cockpit philosophy the point of ease of determining whether everything is working alright? Having like you flown both types, I confess I'm more confortable with ...

RE: A380 Aerodynamics

QantasA332
If you looked on the A380 view on the airbus site, you will find that the aircraft is indeed designed with area rule :they used the karman wing-to-fuselage fairing to that end.Hence the explanation of the high Mach cruise of the A380.

RE: A320 Throttles

Hi all. I'm sorry, guys, but there's a lot of misconceptions here. 1/-In manual mode,THE WHOLE range of the throttle quadrant is available to the pilot. 2/-Before one disconnects the ATHR,one should retard the throttles in order to align the throttle position bugs with the actual needle position on ...
