So I looked up the return flight DL 186 that is scheduled to depart from PVG on July 22 at 12:30PM local time. It is the inbound plane that is flying back to ATL. So the 77L sits at PVG for 17+ hours? That is a waste of time and money. Same thing with the A359 from DTW and the B763 from SEA. Looks l...Jump to post
I believe the offshoring to the Pune area has slowed and as fewer new offices open and older offices are established, fewer people have to travel back and forth. One of my past companies had an office there and we always just flew people to DEL and took a car to Pune rather than dealing with and pa...Jump to post

Looks like LH has discontinued the FRA-PNQ service operated by Privatair I was booked to fly DTW-FRA-PNQ on September 19th but got an email saying I was rerouted DTW-FRA-DEL-PNQ. When I looked at the summer 2018 and winter 2019 timetables on the LH website, PNQ is not even listed as a destination fr...Jump to post

If Delta really wants to capture this market, I would wonder if it would be in its best interest to have an early morning departure from JFK, with a flight that originates in ATL around 11:30 AM, arriving at JFK at 2:00 AM, then pushing back at JFK for BOM at about 4:45 AM with arrival into BOM aro...Jump to post
Denver not as much, but SLC is a Delta hub, they could have sent a Delta 767 or something to AMS for those 744 pax, but then you have the issue of tools not being there to repair the 747 and no maitnince backs near by (LAX,ATL,etc) DL is not going to put extra equipment to cover for a KLM flight. Believe the A380 does not have the latest AF cabin among other things, but am curious if anyone has sat in these seats and can advise? Looks like the inbound from AMS had some issues as well since it left AMS 2 hours late.
Made more sense to go back to LAX than any other airport since there are more options for accomodating passengers the next day on other flights like DL, KL and AF - not possible at SLC or DEN.
What .... ??? Wow Air has already announced flights to DEL !! I don't think Iceland - Delhi could be served by 2 competing carriers at current traffic levels !! Unless they have some incredible plan to siphon off India-US pax, by bypassing Schengen transit visa requirements or something like that. ...Jump to post

To summarize what people said earlier, ATL has the advantages of way more connections and no non-stop competition. JFK has more of a passenger base and is closer/“on the way” from more cities but also competitors. ATL and/or BOM might provide incentives for that service. I would say ATL’s chances a...Jump to post
Also, MAA has european connections thru FRA, LHR, CDG (via Jet) but you're right, probably fewer O&D than BLR
The most convenient according to me would be SAN - LAX - AMS/CDG/LHR and you would get MQMs all the way. With DL in T2/T3 at LAX now, easier to get to TBIT for the double daily KL and AF flights. VS still uses T2 so that is convenient as well. After LAX, I would go with DTW or MSP over SLC/SEA due t...Jump to post
As an ORD guy I have no dog in this race of who gets the origin, but I'm curious why they wouldn't decide on somewhere else like BLR or MAA on the India side. If the whole point is to focus on premium O&D (since connecting traffic from the rest of the country have plenty of 1-stop options) and ...Jump to post
ATL has one-stop to 12 Indian airports DTW has one-stop to 4 Indian airports. A non-stop to BOM/DEL also adds one-stops to 35-40 Indian airports Can you list the airports? Not to nitpick, but I count 13 from ATL and 5 from DTW. A nonstop to BOM/DEL from anywhere in the USA will serve the same numbe...Jump to post
For pax of Indian citizenship, transiting in UK requires a transit visa, which is a hassle to get. Many avoid transiting in LHR also because of the additional screening and the terminal setup, but the transit visa a big deterrent from the Indian and H1B point of sale. That is not true. *DL JFK-SNA NOV 0>0.9 DEC 0>0.8 JAN 0>0.8 DL makes a comeback on this route after about 8 years. What equipment will they be using? The last time DL operated the route they used the 737-700. I am guessing it will be the 757 this time around. DL has been using the 757 for DTW-SNA Nice to see SNA bei...Jump to post
FYI - The JV is in effect now. Delta updated its page to reflect that KE is now a Tier 1 partner. That's great news! :alert: Be aware, this is a rip off by KLM - especially in row 16! Would love to see how this goes. I think this is taking basic economy a little too far.
The article also says the fares will be available on BA and other partners.
Excuse me??? LH operates a 748 to Mumbai. Both the cities are equally high yielding. The difference is the demand which is more in BOM as evident. LH is operating the 748 during the winter months. AMS seemed clear enough, but again, Security at gate can make things run late if you're not anticipating queues at boarding.

This is scary. Good it happened on landing and not mid-air.
Based on some passenger comments, looks like the flight attendants ignored the passengers concerns about the handle coming off or being loose.
Keep in mind you have to be on board the aircraft 10 minutes before departure. So effectively your connection time is only 31 minutes. But if both legs are on UA, then UA should be able to hold until you make your connection since that is the last flight out for the day.Jump to post
If you are an Indian citizen, make sure that you have a valid H1B stamp in your passport (doesn't matter if you have I-797 extension) else airliines will not even allow you to board flight to LHR.
