Airbus N.A. Chairman: "747-8i is the Ford Edsel"

How do you say "Edsel" in German? By that, I mean that it seems to me that Allen McArtor is insulting one of their own, and best, customers. IMHO, he should have pointed out that the 747-8 and A380 are of significantly different size and that LH wanted ...

This question may have already been covered in the previous threads, but did the ATC sector handling the Legacy call the sector handling the Gol 738 and point out that they had lost contact with Legacy and what the Legacy's altitude was?

It's a "Supertug." It does lift the nose gear off the ground. One advantage is that the Supertug is able to tow at a relatively high speed, thus relieving the need for a taxi qualified mechanic (there have been taxi related damages to various aircraft over the years). I'm not sure of the actual name...

The equipment suffixes denote some of the avionics on board the aircraft. You're right to consider fuel expense, for one, but I'd be most concerned about insurance. In the case, of a T-6/SNJ/Harvard, the insurance companies would be looking for considerable tail-dragger experience. However, it can be done, as evidenced by the significant number of T-6s that fly every year.
