Interesting and much welcomed from this Canadian. However they did mention 'Higher Density" 77W to be delivered next summer. Me thinks 10W Y is coming for AC 777's, Probably go 9W Y+ with Old seats at 33-34"

RE: 787-10X To Have 6 Wheel MLG

As others have suggested above, and I have pointed many a time - The 787 barrel has a lot of future capability in it. A 280T 787 effectively kills the 77W. The Barrels are very similarly sized - only a 9" difference in Height is inmaterial although the barrel is maxed out at <acronym title="Jet Airw...

I don't doubt that have a very big hill to climb - but the point I continually try to make - albeit I guess unsuccessfully is that whatever they end up producing will take directly out of B & A's projected sales to China, which are very significant. I would agree as well, I think it was Kessje who pointed out in another thread that if they did bump 781 to 270 tonnes the only significant technological change would be a need to possibly widen the gear - yes not that easy - but at 270 tonnes the 781 would have a range of approximately 8,000 <acron...

Boeing has a 10+ year development gap from 2016ish to 737 replacement in the mid/late 2020's, it would be much wiser to spend it on 777/748i replacement than on a program that is not even as good as the A350 is projected to be. Now that it seems like Boeing will delay the 777X into the 2020's it's brings a wholescale replacement into the picture. So the consensus seems to be more like what I suggested in the beginning of the topic. That given the projected EIS Boeing is much more likely to go New Build. I think it is new build and one of the main drivers for that will be manufacturing cost. The 777 is very labor intensive compared to what I ...

So If Boeing Was To Pass On 777x And Build Y3....

As discussed in other threads it sounds like Boeing is having some second thoughts on 777X at least the 778. If Boeing was to just do a 777+NEO minimal change for say 2016-17, could they have a 777/748 replacement ready in 2022 (I'm assuming that a re-engine of the 777 family keeps the line busy for...

It's time to follow the original game plan and bring on Y3 - the 787 can cover the middle no problem at all.

I'm guessing they are also realizing how good the potential 787-10 is going to be. At 69M it's cabin length will be about the same. Didn't Aspire write that 789 was 3% lighter than Spec? Good point Stitch. The 787-10 will already be 69m.
