Well, Thomas Cook Airlines was going to launch RNO-LGW in December 2015, but then scrapped the flights due to lack of customs staff at RNO to handle a widebody jet. https://www.rgj.com/story/money/business/2015/05/07/nonstop-flights-reno-london-scrapped/70932738/ Condor has very odd routes, like Fa...Jump to post
BHX used to see fifth freedom routes BHX - JFK on Uzbekistan - 767 BHX - YYZ on Pakistan - 743/742(?) BHX - YYZ on Air India - 77E(?) / 788 When PK first started BHX they flew the 742 via IST, FCO, CPH... They flew to KHI, LHR and ISB... I think the services from BHX to these European stops were sol...Jump to post
Where did we get the “BA also rebranding” soon from? Link please? Don't know about that. But if you google images of BA livery you come across this one: https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-EX1iNjiQd7g/V-qFC5tAKnI/AAAAAAAAD0U/5FWoRDHaLBUkk_uv73sAWiu-gmKdAcBPgCLcB/s1600/BA%2B2017%2BLivery.jpg That's going way...Jump to post
Doesn't BA still operate the LHR - GLA /EDI shuttles with 767 eqpt still ? I know its not short as some mentioned but I like to add my 2 cents. I know in the past, intra euro flights had LH/AF/LX/IB operating between their respective hubs with WB acft. LH used to send the A300 to LHR from FRA, LX I ...Jump to post
Used to work at DTW mcnamara.. As stated earlier and just for absolute clarification, once you have your bag and clear customs, general exit is to the left while connections are ahead, you have desks for people requiring to check bags in again, then a TSA line and then the steps upstairs to the term...Jump to post
I'm excited for these developments ! Exeter is certainly in a beautiful area of England and I'm glad that plans are being thought of and possibly developed for the future. I can see Ryanair opening more routes and a transatlantic route network much the same as Norwegian has. Perhaps Primera and Norw...Jump to post
Qatar used to fly GVA to JFK too , I believe with A330 eqpt, and yes AF was LHR to LAX with a 77W, not JFK. EK obviously also tried the HAM JFK link for a while with 777 type eqpt but subsequently disconnected them. Uzbekistan used to fly BHX to JFK with a 763 and either did or do fly RIX to JFK wit...Jump to post
Just noticed on flight aware and AFR24 that AA flight from Beijing to Chicago is being diverted to DTW. it circled over traverse city for a bit then headed to DTW. anything up at ORD.I can't imagine it was a medical diversion with the circling over traverse. Maybe waiting to see what the plan was? A...Jump to post
I agree with queenoftheskies ... I have a British passport and flew for Delta connection, no issues at all, I only flew into Canada internationally but with my green card/permanent residence and my British passport all the Canadians did were look at my passport and stamp it (sometimes they just stam...Jump to post
agree but actually the picture shown is the ultimate stage of EXT and for further grown another airport(s) should be considered ... Did you just say Exeter would need ANOTHER airport?? On top of the 6 runways?? Bloody hell... I stayed out of this, quietly laughing reading the comments...but this one...Jump to post
Quick question that I'm curious about. someone mentioned in a previous topic that it could be EI adding flights from a different city than DUB, simply because of issues with the DUB airport authority. Would that even be realistic ? I'm sure it could only be possible from perhaps SNN or maybe BFS. Th...Jump to post
Its on the news here, sadly 2 out of 3 passengers were killed, plane I guess originated in Texas and stopped in Arkansas before continuing up to Detroit. https://www.clickondetroit.com/news/2-killed-after-small-plane-crashes-in-detroit-neighborhood-near-forest-lawn-cemetery sounds like fuel exhausti...Jump to post
[quote="kaitak"]It's only June and they haven't yet chosen an engine for the new model; they still have to get through the summer season and there is still some uncertainty as to delivery dates and also, increasing conflict between EI and the DAA (Dublin Airport Authority) over congestion ...Jump to post
did anyone else catch the news that Primera have pulled the BHX-YYZ/BOS flights this year due to acft shortage.
I guess they were using a National Airlines 757 for the EWR service but due to not having their new 321's delivered in time they are simply pulling the routes for now.
ELP I assume is largely used by the automotive industry? My former father in law used to connect thru ATL once a week or so to get to ELP, from there they would cross the border to Mexico where the auto plant where he visited was at. I have a few friends at work also who have been talking about this...Jump to post
Thanks guys , two things... I used to work with a couple of flight attendants who worked for national, they didn't have terrific things to say about the running of the company but they said they had a lot of good times flying with them. The staff apparently were really good. I guess the crash in Bag...Jump to post
Hi guys, I noticed last night a flight from EWR to my hometown airport of BHX operated by National Airlines and it got me wondering what the core of their business is. The fight was operated by a 757 and I assume it was some kind of charter but usually I see them operating freighters out of Afghanis...Jump to post
Ok, I posted this in the DTW thread. Its simply not a viable option. I too would love to see it resurrected, but I'm a realist too.. There isn't a viable justification for scheduled or chartered passenger travel at DET when DTW isn't at capacity for passenger travel and Pontiac is an already establi...Jump to post
Ridiculous, and people wonder why this forum is becoming a joke. I for one was interested in this thread, and then a couple of people have to engage in a dick measuring contest over who knows what. Pathetic. Take your petty arguments elsewhere so the rest of us can enjoy a thread on aviation. Idiots.Jump to post
Lol... Does this argument even have any relevance right now. Take it out to non-av.... I don't want to have to trawl thru your guys petty argument to continue reading about the actual topic I clicked on to read. Seriously, stop degrading this to pure schoolboy bickering. I should clarify, I know that PTK doesn't have scheduled air service bit I feel that there is two issues with DET.. Firstly, some people thing it could be an ideal LCC alternative airport to DTW, which is frankly...let's be honest... never going to happen. Secondly, to try and create it into a top n...Jump to post

I believe the only time EK grounded their fleets in large scale is when DUB was down to 1 runway operation when they refurbish another one. I'm surprised no-one mentioned BA. has their offering really fell that far?
I remember back in the day they used to have a very envious product.
It's illegal to use the law to punish a private company for making a legal business decision at the behest of lobbyists isn't it? That's what I was getting at. I'm sure there has been cases before of an airline or big private firm getting leaned on by a state to do something but this just seems wro...Jump to post
Isn't Delta within their right to make their own choices as to who they grant discounts to... Its not like they're forced to offer any discounts. Its just something they do as good business practice.
In that sense it does seem that the state is being pretty intrusive ...
See, this is exactly what I was wanting to ask.. However ... I figured I'd sound dumb asking it... If this were to develop say into something bigger... Where the state and the airline were to end up having pretty sour relations, could this end up hurting the Atlanta ops?Jump to post
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/43250091 I guess I'm kinda amazed at this. Georgia is thinking of cutting a tax exemption to Delta because of the stance the airline has taken by ending discounts for the NRA. What does an airline as big as Delta do in this situation.. Are they in a stronger position than t...Jump to post
I can maybe see Chicago working in the US due to the large Ukrainian diaspora living in the Midwest. I find it interesting that the article states that NORAD handed over tracking to the US Coastguard who then was relying on the FlightAware website to track it. Hey guys, this might sound a little off topic here but someone mentioned it earlier... EWR has AC to YVR... a flight just less than 5hrs.. Why is it operated by a 787 ?
