RE: Life, Liberty, And The Pursuit Of Suicide...

At this point I must say something, there have been a lot of good points for and against suicide but really unless we ourselves are in the situation of being sick, depressed, dying etc. how are we to know what we would really do? I have watched friends die of AIDS and someone die of cancer and if I w...

RE: Cellphones/Mobile Phones

I agree with you Teahan even though I have one, but I rarely use it, it is in my car for emergency's only, since I commute so much. I think people want to appear more important than they really are and they think the cell phone will do that!! I do however think there may be important applications fo...

RE: Hate All This Mergers!

I agree with MD11 that IF these mergers ever take place it would be a sad thing as far as making some current airlines defunct, but on the other hand I also agree with Matt D that this is all sort of speculation at the moment. In my humble opinion I don't think it will ever happen, but at least it g...

RE: Best Aviation/Airliner Magazine?

I have also subscribed to both Airliners and Airways and found them both very good, however I like Airways better as it is published monthly whereas Airliners only comes out once every two months. Another mag. that is chock full of info. is Air International ( I think that is the name, for some reas...

RE: Pilot Career Advice

Hi all, just wanted to put my 2 cents in. Don't ever let "age" deter you (anyone) from going after something that you want. I am 47(!!!) and believe it or not I have wanted to be a flight attendant for years and now find myself in a position to go for it. I am going to be attending an open house soo...

RE: Airline Share Tips!

Yes, I read the same thing, UA shares down and US shares up, but not as high as they thought the shares would go. By "they" I assume the article meant the CEO's of both companies. As far as people making alot of money from this I have'nt heard of any. As far as buying into either company, I would no...

I agree that BOS has its problems but I kind of like it anyway (so I am a little crazy!!) Does anyone know if it is a hub for any airline? I think not, but am not sure.

ATC "Heavy"

I am curious to know why ATC calls the Concorde "heavy", I always thought that
that was given to widebody jets only. Is it a matter of engine size and not plane size?

RE: Commercial Aircraft Designs - Too Boring?

I for one don't think you are being too picky but what else can they do design wise? A tube is a tube, which is basically what an airplane is, unfortunately. Who was the airline maker that was fooling around with the all wing design many years back? The airplane looked like a big wing....now that mi...

Fear Of Flying

Hello everybody, this is my first post so bear with me. I don't know if this topic has already been covered here or not but I am just curious about which airlines have programs for fearful flyers. As you might have gathered I was one for many years until I stumbled upon AA fearful flyer program a fe...

RE: Best Aircraft For Longhaul Economy Flights

I agree that the 2-3-2 layout of the 767 is best. As far as the "feeling" of space it all depends on the configuration of the aircraft for example I once flew on a TWA 767 which had a 1st class section and the rest was coach. Coach was divided into two sections, one smaller than the other, I was in ...

A few years ago I took an Air France(Air Inter) flight from ORY to BIA (Bastia, Corsica) and do not remember the service being exceptional, I think that we were offered juice, coffee and newspapers. I took the same flight 2 years ago and was only offered water and juice ! if memory serves me correct...
