RE: DL To Start 737 Ops To Hawaii

Hawaii, being a vacation destination, has a lot of group fares and generally low fares. Very poor yield. Not a lot of motivation for an airline to increase capacity when if you decrease it you can get a higher return. Oh for the days when <acronym title="Honolulu - International / Pearl Harbor-Hicka...

Did Boeing Stop B717 Production Too Early?

I realize that Boeing was afraid that the B717 would be competing with B737 sales but from many threads on here it sure sounds like they could make some money by restarting the B717 production line. By now all of the jigs may have been destroyed and it may be cost prohibitive to restart. But then lo...

Some of the earliest MD88 frames have already been scrapped. One was used in that crash film with Denzel Washington. The cockpit and forward door were from ship 801. Most of those first ones were delivered as MD82's and were later upgraded. I do not see any rush to retire them. They compliment the B...

Delta buys what Delta needs. I admit I am no fan of the 737-932ER but that is because they crammed in too many seats. The AVOD system is flawless. Anyone who has ever been in a hangar with an aircraft undergoing a D check will tell you it is totally stripped--even the windows are gone, the cabin interior is stripped to the bare metal and every instrument in the cockpit is gone. It is a new airplane when it is all put back together.
