RE: New Livery For Air Austral

Photographs mixed with graphic elements generally clash. This design is no exception. I get the feeling that putting pictures on tails is just an easy way to avoid having to pay a graphic designer to come up with something really compelling.

I got the impression that Bonin did not have an appropriate temperament to be a pilot ... he seemed unreasonably anxious before anything had even happened, which caused him to grossly overreact rather than logically assess and respond to the situation. RE: AS Finally Ditching The Eskimo?

That dog design is terrible ... the colors are bland ... a dog would be a terrible airline branding tool likening taking Alaska to a sled-dog trip. Also, just think of how that could be used to make fun of Alaska. No way should they get rid of the Eskimo.

The in-flight pic looks quite nice ... I see that the yellow is not the primary shade I thought it was and that the red stripe is larger, which is good. They've done a good job.

I think they did a fairly good job here. It definitely has an LCC "fun" feel to it, and it will really stand out. On the other hand, the primary colors look somewhat childish and the white titling on blue is very reminiscent of Sun Country. I wish they would have added some more sophisticated touche...
