My biased vote goes to Houston. We already have the venues in place and underused airports. With light rail coming online we will have the infrastructure to support the games. As the most underrated city in the nation (4th Largest), it needs the exposure.

A few corrections for you:

UPS operates A300s not A310s -- the A300 is not even in service yet with UPS so it my have been a 767.

Comair has CRJs not ERJs.

All of the new aircraft deliveries to Continental will have the new style interiors.

The 767-400s will be sent to Newark exclusively. IAH may not see 767-400 service for a year - if not longer. The 767-200 will be sent here to Houston for the IAH-GRU flight.

I know they were based at MIA-are they still in service?
I know they flew a fleet of DC8-62s and -63s as well as L1011s.
What type of service did they have?
I also remember hearing that they cut a lot of corners on maintainance.

Southwest lowers fares because that is its formula. The other's lower their fares in order to run the new guy out-then they raise them back up. Usually Southwest's fares hover around the same general price.

LAS Vegas

Vegas is the best night approach that I've seen. San Diego is quite interesting due to the proximity to downtown. The approach to 12R at Houston Hobby causes aircraft to do a half-loop around Downtown Houston, all visual landmarks of the city are visible. IAH is a little bit more mundane.

14hr flying time on 777-200ER.
From Hobby I believe it is either LGA or LAX by American with MD80s.

A Finnair MD-11 here at IAH is highly unlikey. It could have been Continental DC10 or a Charter L1011 of ATA. I have no explanation why a Finnair bird woul be down here in TX.
