Love Narita quick immigration and movement in the terminal. Totally hate the 30 minutes of taxing around to get to the gate and the slow "Express" to the Yamanote line. Nest time I go to Japan I am planing on getting to HND to see if its worth the extra $$$ fare.
In my experience after so many bad experiences with United, I said I would never do it again, but heck I have flown 6 times since and I have had 3 wonderful experiences 2 so-so and one awful ....but the problem is that the employees are either a nightmare to deal with or wonderful and very service e...Jump to post

This cancelation was expected since...forever? The only thing now is that if this cancelation had occurred before the EK order of last month, Anet would have been (again) a huge "the A380 is doomed and we knew it since the 80´s", now with the new order, it is not great news but there are o...Jump to post

Thank You Matt for doing this very interesting thread. Airbus has a lot of workforce coming out of programs that are finished, and they have the time to make a working proposition of the Whalejet, but the most important part is missing : ENGINES, as soon as GE,RR,PW or somebody has a new engine and ...Jump to post

Well if this order comes to fruition ...its a HUGE win for Airbus, and a surefire way of establishing the 338/9 NEO as a formidable contender, because of availability ... I wonder how long the boom in sales end... the backlog is crazy ...
Suddenly everyone wants the 321LR to perform miracles, and specs the MOM to do the same for everyone... lets be real here, its a great aircraft and has a huge potential, but for example in my flight from MEX-NRT the final 3 hours the speed of the 788 was 477 km/h true ground speed due to strong wind...Jump to post
As Boeing has the production capacity and the ability to lower the price of the 787, the A330 is practically dead. It had the advantage of lower investment costs and faster delivery, but this is no longer the case. If you figure the probably low resale value of the A330NEO, the 787 already is cheap...Jump to post
I think its a wonderful idea to have a decent fare and decent space and seat. That way you pick your poison: super cheap cattle class with cramped space good for small less than 4 hours and getting a decent space and fare for a 6 plus hour flight. You have the choice in my experience I almost always...Jump to post
Great news to GE ! The 789 will look fantastic in HA colors. Its a bummer to see the 338 orphaned when is such a capable aircraft ... guess they want to fill the extra seats, I guess the 3-3-3 was a non-factor against the 2-4-2 of the European product.
Just because WW says that the price isn't right yet, many people here seem eager to write the A380 off on the basis of poor economics. The reality is that BA needs the A380 to remain competitive in the long run. Many routes can use it and it gives BA the opportunity to grow their most successful ro...Jump to post

The race to the bottom will continue as long as Joe average wants a ridiculous cheap fare... This is a myth. If we don't count Basic Economy (and similar products), the prices are going up, not down. At the same time legroom and comfort is decreasing. Well in my experience I have found fares that a...Jump to post

I bet UA will take A321 and a330 as a package or go MAX and 788 as a package and buy as a few as they can and pressure Boeing to begin the 797 project. The 788 is an aircraft they know very well and they could get a killer deal from Boeing and far cheaper than what Airbus can offer, just to kill the...Jump to post

I could write 4 pages on how bad the whole thing is, but just the fact that it lies below the current MEX and its prone to flooding and has an Active Volcano 45 miles away and a body of water known to attract migratory birds...is enough! just as a fantasy you can see in the Video ...Jump to post
I have flown on 738 and A320 for close to 6 hours, some seats are better than others, but the cabin is bigger and you have a more airy and less cramped atmosphere. Well, its economics and capitalism 101... we might argue that is a criminal low wage, but they wanted the job and took it. If they get a small fleet of 6 to 8 A380, it will send a huge confidence vote on the Whalejet, maybe they will order them with the new interiors and with a section of 11 abreast to make it a 580+ pax aircraft. I often wonder why Aneters get so overexcited when an airline switches from A to B and viceversa, the HA order is significant but not Big in any way. I guess I am a die hard optimist but if Ryanair or Delta even Iberia use this second hand A380 and get a small fleet of 5, they all could use MEX and make a killing using it as a spoke and hub enabler. Boeing is a conundrum, on one hand they could deliver a perfect 757 mk2, as a single asile long tube with an optimized wing, composite body, lightweight body and a limited range of 4500nm, control the price of acquisition and operations and forgo the use of containers and big cargo capability, so lo...Jump to post
