SFO, LAX, MEX,GRU, YVR (or SEA) just off the top of my head, I am sure BA will go 8 firm orders and 8 options to be firmed before 2023 with no penalty of cancelation...and or upgrades if --IF-- Airbus Neo´s the A380 at a very good price... maybe it will be John Leahy last hurray....

I´d love to see how much better the 339 is and the 350-1000 than predicted, because as of late there is a lot of noise on the better than expected performance front. Also the N eX stops at Shibuya, so You can take it and stop at Tokyo, Shinjuku or Shibuya..... but yes HND is a much better faster and cheaper.

I am sure that if Ibera (and BA) had more cojones thy should have ordered a dozen more A380 some years ago, and they would have been using at least 6 each to America. MEX is a big dumpster and its ready for (ONE) A380 at the time, but I bet if they had the A380 they would fly it here or to GRU or EZ...

a 2-2-2 config is simply imposible, because it would make an aircraft aerodynamically more resistant due to a larger fuselage its better a 3-3 layout and reduce 40 to 55 cams of width area. In the times we live in where Airlines cram as much people as they can, the next jump from a 3-3 layout is a 2...

BA could buy them and use them to GRU and MEX, heck they could use IB on its Mexico Routes alone....high density in the lower floor....and F and C on top.... Mexico has the market, even CUN as high density could use the A380.

Just checked and Am 58 form Mexico city to Tokio Narita has been diverted right in the middle of the pacific, anyone knows the reason? The aircraft has a huge delay in PGV due to tech problems, I hope its nothing serious.

Thanks to Karel, PW100, Zeke and other for the very useful info. Seeing the pictures AF is very lucky that no shrapnel or parts it the fuselage, and damage was very localized. I bet they have a lot of people on this event to see exactly why this happened. And we can argue add infinitum of why twins ...

Since the backlog on Airbus and Boeing narrow bodies is in the high thousands, I wonder who will be the ballsy customer to ask for a 200 to 300 order for a new narrow body that flies 2025, with new engine tech and materials.... BTW congrats airbus on the A359´s... huge order..

Quietly tucked in the bottom of that chart is a legend that says "800Nm trip". It is well known that the 737 is more competitive at short range than at long range, so that's clearly the comparison Boeing will pick. Nothing fundamentally wrong with that either, as many trips are that short...

Not aviation created but if you are driving to LA anyways try to visit Yosemite or Sequoia national parks...I was there last week and if you avoid the weekends the sights and activities are incredible.... and use the CA 99 highway down and detour to Victorville..

I guess the triple 7 will be on the order, and a few 787 for thinner routes. I don't think they will go for a huge 737 order, because the Neo is better for the hot operations, but of course one can never ignore the power of availability ....
