RE: Thrust Reverse With Nose Gear In The Air

What about the DC9? I've seen it many times at DTW, when landing on our shortest runway (little over 8,000ft-enough for a DC9). Once a US Airways DC9 (have it on video also) came in, the nose was kinda higher than previous arriving DC9s (NW), and right when the rear wheels touched, spoilers up and t...

ATA service is great, depending on whether it is scheduled service or charter. If it is a charter (sounds like it is since your going out of ORD)-- make sure you understand your tour operator's terms and conditions.

Enjoy your flight.

Ghez, last time I've flown JAT was back in 1987..
DTW-Zagreb-Belgrade-Titograd (Podgorica).. on the DC10 and 727/737.

I heard they are working on a new paint scheme.

Blue Skies Are White.

Well, got my newest photos back from the store and what a poor job first I should mention, the photos were cut poorly (looks like when you use a dull razor to cut something). Anyway, I went to DTW on a clear day around 4 p.m. so the angle on the sun was starting to come down and the sky was a nice ...

DTW-AMS-BUD-TGD-TIA & Others

How cool, I actually have a section on my website with recent travel and grades I gave them. So I will summarize some of what is on my website. In July 1998, I was at DTW getting ready for a nice trip to Europe to visit my mom's family. We arrived to DTW and checked in, got my window on the DC10 to ...

RE: 727's

I had my first "memorable" 727 flights just the other month with ATA and that baby flew so smooth, my friend woke up during flight and thought we landed. The plane was very quiet and comfortable too, in ATA layout- which is high density economy. I flew on the 727 once when I was to young to remember...

RE: Shutter Speeds For Takeoff & Landings

I don't know much about f-stops/shutters, but I use an automatic Minolta 300mm, and on the LCD screen, I always see numbers come up after I've taken a photo... do I assume it adjusts itself? I always used 400 speed film, but always got a grainy look- so I jumped down to 200 speed after I talked wit...

DTW-FCO will remain, but DTW-MXP does free up a DC-10 for Northwest on their expanded India flights which they recently annouced out of AMS with KLM.

I like it best on the MD-88, still getting use to it on the 757.. looks kinda strange, but better on the widebodies.

RE: HP 5200Cse What Do You Think?

I was considering the HP family of scanners myself, but I then opted for the Epson brand with the newest 1200S I purchased for under market value (hardwarestreet.com), Overall, I am pleased with it's performance. It has a 2400 x 1200 dpi hardware (36 bit), but software can take it up to 9600, like m...

RE: Good Photo Spots At ORD Terminal 2 Or DTW Terminal

DTW has some good spots, they just built a new extension to Concourse A, with a good viewing area on the bridge. Also the parking deck is a good alternative- it gives you a clear view of the airfield. If you going to stay inside DTW- the Northwest terminal should be good enough. More information lik...

RE: How To Handle Airport Admin

Ok- I joined Airliners.net to respond to your message, I actually was thrown out of Green Lot at DTW b/c I was taking photos. I did not walk away-- I paid $7 for my spot, so I wrote to the head of Police at DTW and the Commander called me after he got my letter and he told me that my rights were ind...
